Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal that EastEnders scriptwriters have been brought in to shape the current Formula One season – writing the scripts for the fly-on-the-wall documentary “Drive to Survive.”
With the new campaign only two races old, some of the best writers in the business are trying to turn F1 into the biggest soap opera of all time.
One of them was prepared to break the silence and explain to us that:
“We were approached at the start of the year and told we had a blank canvas. Our task was to make F1 more appealing to the mainstream.
“We decided to go in at the deep end and devise a storyline around Red Bull Racing and in particular, Team Principle Christian Horner and a series of text messages.
“I think It’s fair to say we nailed it.”
With many people now unable to differentiate fact from fiction and with F1 making headlines on the front as well as the back pages, another member of the writing team told us that:
“It was a stroke of genius. We never expected it to go down this well – and we can’t wait to see the reaction when Lewis Hamilton opens a clothes stall down the market.”
“Of course it’s destined for failure – no one wants the clobber he’s got, do they?”
And the streaming bosses are keen to see other characters roles develop this season.
“It’s been so successful we want them to give more time Max Verstappen dad – him and Phil Mitchell dragging Horner down the arches and give him a going over if he doesn’t quit Red Bull could be on the cards.”
There are also a load more ideas to come, we were told.
Paddy Power News has been given a sneak preview of some of the other potential plot-lines that writers are working on for the rest of the season, although at the time of going to press, it’s not confirmed if any the following will make the final cut:
- A chase across the tramlines on Blackpool promenade involving Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
- A mystery former F1 driver walking out of the shower to re-enter the competition 20 years after his disappearance from the sport.
- A ‘who shot Martin Brundle (On his grid walk)?’ storyline that will have fans guessing the culprit all summer – our money’s on Machine Gun Kelly
And there are even rumours swirling that a season finale plane crash could wipe out the entire cast in a bid to reboot the series if viewing figures fail to meet expectations, though they are yet to be confirmed.
