The Europa League is back on the agenda on Thursday night with a host of big games on the schedule including Rangers home clash with French side Lyon.

Having rested almost their whole first team at the weekend, it’s clear Lyon are taking their Europa League assignment against Rangers seriously.
It’s been a tricky start to the season for the Ligue 1 club, but after just one defeat in their last five matches, it appears they are starting to get back on an even keel after some tricky weeks.
Rangers, meanwhile, still have questions to answer over their form. Sure, last week’s 2-0 win over Malmo was an impressive statement of intent in Europe, but they relapsed significantly at the weekend and were lucky to beat Hibs. Lyon are an excellent price to leave Glasgow with at least a point.

Rangers have typically been a difficult sell in the both teams to score market, yet against a powerful Lyon side that struggles to keep clean sheets, it would be surprising if each set of fans did not have something to celebrate in this encounter.
Lyon have only kept two clean sheets all season, and while they managed to keep Lens and Olympiacos at bay, these sides both generated 1.0 xG or greater in those fixtures.
At least Lyon have started to find their touch at the other end of the park. They have scored exactly two goals in their last three games and will be confident of finding the net despite Rangers keeping four successive clean sheets.
Corentin Tolisso to be fouled 2+ times
Rested at the weekend, experienced World Cup winner Corentin Tolisso is set to return for Lyon in this clash, and will be a central figure in the midfield battle.
Tolisso leads Lyon in Ligue 1 for fouls drawn with nine, which works out at three per 90 minutes he’s been on the field. He has been fouled at least twice in all of the four matches he has played this season.
Tom Lawrence and Mohamed Diomande are liable to be in his vicinity in this clash, with this pair Rangers’ leading foul makers in the Scottish Premiership, with 2.39 and 2.37 fouls per 90 respectively.
Robin Propper to be fouled 1+ times
Look for Rangers centre-back Robin Propper to be fouled at least once, with the Dutchman excellent value in this market.
Propper has drawn 1.35 fouls per 90 in the Scottish Premiership this season, while he has won at least one in four of the five games, that data is available for.
Lyon’s likely starting forwards, Alexandre Lacazette and Gift Orban, are among their most prolific foulers. This pair are giving up 2.25 and 2.38 fouls per 90 respectively in Ligue 1 this season, which make Propper drawing at least one foul in this clash likely.
Rayan Cherki to have 1+ shots on target
Since signing a new contract and playing more regular football again, Rayan Cherki has looked like a player who can elevate Lyon’s attack significantly.
The winger only has three appearances this season, but has scored in two of them, and off the back of that form, he can expect to start in Glasgow. Moreover, he is liable to play more than the 66 minutes he managed against Olympiacos, as he builds up his form and confidence.
Look for the winger to try to take matters into his own hands at times during this match, with the atmospheric stage something he will likely embrace.
