There’s plenty of games on the box across Saturday and Sunday and it’s the mouth-watering Manchester City v Chelsea at Wembley at 5.15pm before Wolves v Arsenal at 7.30pm in the Premier League. Sunday starts with a battle at the bottom with Nottingham Forest travelling to Everton before Championship outfit Coventry tackle Manchester United in the cup at 3.30pm and Fulham face Liverpool at 4.30pm.
So, with so much action to get stuck in to, it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson who’s champing at the bit to two-foot game week 33 on the calendar with the added bonus of some cup football as well.
Saturday 3pm: Luton v Brentford
Luton got smashed 5-1 by Manchester City last week which was not a surprise and Brentford won 2-0 against Sheffield United. It looks like they’re nearly all fit and this will be an interesting game but I think Brentford will kick on in what’s left of the season. Luton 1-2 Brentford.
Saturday 3pm: Sheffield United v Burnley
Sheffield United lost last time and Burnley picked up a point. As they’re at home I fancy Sheffield United to pick up a rare win. Sheffield United 2-1 Burnley.
Saturday 5.15pm: Manchester City v Chelsea
TV: BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport Website.
Chelsea will make it difficult for Manchester City and I’m not sure there will be loads of goals in this because Mauricio Pochettino will close it down. I’ll still go for City to win this FA Cup semi final. Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea.
Saturday 7.30pm: Wolves v Arsenal
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Wolves had that exciting 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest but they haven’t won in four now. Arsenal have got to bounce back, they were frightened by Aston Villa last week who were really, really good. I’ll go with Arsenal to win. Wolves 1-2 Arsenal.
Sunday 1.30pm: Everton v Nottingham Forest
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
This is a meaty one, especially after the 6-0 thrashing at Everton took at Chelsea. If you’re a Nottingham Forest player you know there’s going to be a reaction from Everton and I think they’ll win – just. Everton 1-0 Nottingham Forest.
Sunday 3pm: Aston Villa v Bournemouth
Bournemouth drew with Manchester United last weekend with a few dodgy decisions thrown in. They’ve now got more points than last season but Aston Villa were excellent at Arsenal. When Ollie Watkins hit to the post that seemed to stun Arsenal and Villa ran away with it. Villa, tactically, were miles better than Arsenal and you have to fancy them here. Aston Villa 2-0 Bournemouth.
Sunday 3pm: Crystal Palace v West Ham
West Ham were turned over easily by Fulham on Sunday. As Crystal Palace had that amazing win at Liverpool I think they’ll get something out of this one. Crystal Palace 1-1 West Ham.
Sunday 3.30pm: Coventry v Manchester United
TV: ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player
Coventry manager Mark Robins has been around the lower leagues for ages and he’s done a fab job wherever he’s been. He’s a former Manchester United player as well but even though it’s Man United and how they’ve been I would still expect them to win this. If United lost this it would be the worst result of the season and they’ve had a few bad ones. Coventry 0-1 Manchester United.
Sunday 4.30pm: Fulham v Liverpool
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Liverpool have played Fulham three times this year, winning two and drawing one. Fulham have given Liverpool really, really difficult games and I thought they were excellent against West Ham last time out. Liverpool need to bounce back on that tight pitch but I think they will. Fulham 1-2 Liverpool.
