VfL Bochum v Darmstadt

Bundesliga match at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, Bochum
TV: Sky Sports Football, 6:30pm

Under 2.5 goals

Sunday night’s European action kicks off with a clash between two sides fighting for Bundesliga survival. Darmstadt look to have already slipped down to the German second tier, as they remain rock bottom, and 12 points adrift of safety. Hosts Bochum are just the other side of the safety line with a six point gap from the drop zone.

Both sides have lost their last three league games, with just two goals scored each in those matches, and another low scorer looks to be on the cards here.

Marseille v PSG

Ligue 1 match at Stade Velodrome, Marseille
TV: TNT Sports 1, 7:45pm

PSG to Win

PSG are currently 12 points clear in the Ligue 1 title race as they close in on another league crown defence in the coming weeks. Luis Enrique is almost ready to focus his full attention on a UEFA Champions League push, but there is still some work to do in the league.

His team signed off for the international break with an emphatic 6-2 win away at Montpellier to end a run of three successive league draws. Marseille’s Europa League exit seems to have rocked them slightly, and PSG have generally come out on top of their Le Classique trips to the Velodrome. They have won three of their last four away league ties in Marseille and the hosts have failed to score in any of them.

Kylian Mbappe to Score

Kylian Mbappe is determined to wave goodbye to Paris in style with the France captain already on 38 goals in all competitions for PSG this season including 24 in Ligue 1. He will go on to break his season best tally of 42 in the weeks ahead and he’s doing everything in his power to win a first ever Champions League title.

The 25-year-old is in red hot form, scoring five goals in his last two starts, and he loves a visit to Marseille, with four goals in his last four games at the Velodrome.

Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao

La Liga match at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid
TV: Viaplay Sports 1/La Liga TV, 8pm

Draw

Real Madrid are not having it as straightforward as PSG in their pursuit of a domestic league title but Carlo Ancelotti’s team are on the march. An eight-point lead over second place Barcelona means Los Blancos would have to collapse in their pursuit to bring the title back to Madrid.

Ancelotti is also looking to click into Champions League mode, and the prospect of an in form Athletic Bilbao landing in the capital is not a positive sight for the Italian, as the top four race hots up.

The Basque side currently have the edge on fifth place Atletico Madrid, by a single point, and they have lost just one in eight in La Liga. Ancelotti’s charges are arrive back from an international break packed with long distance travel, and the absence of the suspended Vinicius Junior is a blow, against an Athletic Bilbao team which has drawn two of their last four visits to the Santiago Bernabeu.
