Chelsea v Burnley

Chelsea to Receive the Most Cards

Unbeaten in four league games and into the semi-finals of the FA Cup, there are signs that Chelsea are just maybe turning a corner. The Blues still languish in 11th place and are well off the pace even in the race for the Europa Conference League, but they now have an opportunity to finish the season strongly.

They can continue that decent form against a Burnley side that will almost certainly go down in May, despite claiming a vital win over Brentford in their final match before the international break.

Chelsea, however, are likely to receive more cards than their opponents on Saturday afternoon. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have collected the most cards in the league, accumulating 82 bookings and three red cards in 28 games.

Burnley, meanwhile, have received a whopping five dismissals in 29 games (the joint-most in the league) but have only received 56 bookings, meaning the have received the sixth-fewest cards in the division.

Chelsea also average 12.4 fouls per game in the league this season – the second-most in the division – compared to Burnley’s 11.3 – the 10th-highest average. They are excellent value to pick up the most cards on Saturday afternoon.

Cole Palmer to have 1 or more Shots on Target

Cole Palmer should have some joy against a Burnley defence who have conceded at least two goals in six of their last seven fixtures. With an average of 2.5 shots per games, he should be landing at least one on target.

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace

Both teams to Score

Between conceding a late equaliser at Luton Town and suffering a four-point deduction, it has been an incredibly difficult few weeks for Nottingham Forest. The hosts are currently in the bottom three as they await the results of their appeal and simply must beat Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

They will likely have to score at least twice to do so based on their defensive record under Nuno Espirito Santo. Forest have kept just one clean sheet in 12 league games under the Portuguese manager, conceding 21 goals in that spell. They have also been fairly ruthless at the other end, scoring in 10 of their 12 league games under Santo and finding the back of the net an impressive 18 times.

Palace, meanwhile, have kept just one clean sheet in their last 17 league games and considering that came against 10-man Burnley, that is hardly something to shout about. Palace will face a highly motivated Forest outfit and it is difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet. It is equally difficult to see Forest keeping a clean sheet at the other end.

Sheffield United v Fulham

Fulham to have 6 or more Shots on Target

It is impossible to sum up just how bad Sheffield United have been at home this season, especially in recent games. The Blades have lost each of their last three home games by a minimum of five goals, losing 5-0 against both Villa and Brighton before going down 6-0 against Arsenal.

Fulham, who have taken 12 points in their last six games including an away win over Manchester United and 3-0 victories over both Brighton and Spurs, could run riot on Saturday afternoon. No team has faced more shots than Sheffield United this season, who face an average of 17.9 shots per game.

Fulham only average 4.7 shots on target per game this season, but they could significantly better that average on Saturday afternoon.

Bournemouth v Everton

Dominic Solanke to have 2 or more Shots on Target

Everton have not won a Premier League game in over three months in a wretched run of results stretching back to before Christmas. The Toffees have also conceded 19 goals in that 11-game spell, keeping just two clean sheets. They remain at serious risk of relegation and face a Bournemouth outfit that have scored a bagful of goals in recent games, scoring ten in their last five league games and six in their last two.

Bournemouth bounced into the international break by coming from two down to draw at home against Sheffield United before coming from three down to beat Luton. They will be full of momentum for the visit of Everton on Saturday and should put Sean Dyche’s side under serious pressure.

Dominic Solanke is highly likely to try his luck on a number of occasions. The Bournemouth striker had an immensely frustrating day against Sheffield United earlier in March but kickstarted the comeback against Luton. He has averaged 3.1 shots per game in the league this season – the fourth-highest in the division – and is clearly not afraid to have a go. He is decent value to test Jordan Pickford at least twice on Saturday.

Tottenham v Luton

Luton to Receive the Most Cards

While Forest have had a disastrous two weeks, Luton have been thrown a lifeline. Had Luton not managed a late equaliser two weeks ago and had Forest not been deducted four points, things might have started to look very bleak for the Hatters, but they have now been given a real chance of surviving the drop. They need to start turning positive performances into results, though.

Luton have not won in eight league games (just under two months) despite a number of gutsy performances against formidable opponents. They face another tricky test on Saturday and will hope to finally convert such a performance into three points. They may commit several fouls along the way. Luton, despite boasting one of the best disciplinary records in the league, boast the seventh-highest fouls per game average, averaging 11.6 fouls per 90 minutes.
