    Brentford v Liverpool
Premier League match at the Gtech Stadium, Brentford
    TV: TNT Sports, Saturday 12:30pm

Our first Premier League game this Saturday should be a fun one with Brentford vs Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium. Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League but with Man City hot on the tail they’re not able to drop any points. With Brentford winning two of their last four games it makes them a dangerous threat for Liverpool, but can Jurgen Klopp’s men resist?

    Liverpool to Win

Liverpool come into this game knowing that with Man City just two points behind and with a game in hand, it’s essential that they don’t drop any points here. We know that Mohamed Salah is back in training and there’ll be hope that he could feature here.

Regardless of whether the Egyptian talisman plays, this is a Liverpool team who have the firepower to take Brentford to pieces. Brentford have let in 39 goals in just 23 Premier League games including 11 in their past five games in all competitions. Liverpool should have more than enough to do the job here.

        Over 2.5 Goals

Liverpool come into this having scored at least two goals in their past five Premier League games. Unsurprisingly, those five games have also seen the Over 2.5 goal mark smashed, and 66.7% of Liverpool’s Premier League games have had Over 2.5 goals this season.

Brentford have also seen a lot of goals in their games at the Gtech Community Stadium with Under 2.5 goals landing just twice at home all season and in the past five games at the stadium there have been 22 goals scored.

        Ivan Toney to Score

The return of Ivan Toney to action following his ban has been a huge boost to Brentford’s hopes. He’s played exceptionally since returning and has hit the ground running with three goals in four starts. His movement around the box and the fact that he is on penalty duties for Brentford make him stand out as their most likely goal scorer.

We’ve seen Liverpool’s opponents score in each of their past five games in all competitions and with Brentford finding the back of the net in their past nine games it means we’re likely to see the Bees score a goal. It’s most likely going to come from their England international, Ivan Toney.

Diogo Jota to Score or Assist

As much as Liverpool fans will want to see Mohamed Salah back as soon as possible it’s been encouraging to see the team still look lethal in front of goal without him. Arguably the main reason for that has been Diogo Jota, their Portuguese forward.

He’s played nine times for Liverpool since the turn of the year, with just six of those coming as starts. In that time frame, he’s scored five goals and assisted three more. That’s just under one goal contribution per game and against a shaky Brentford backline that might well happen again.

Christian Norgaard to Commit 2 or more Fouls

It’s Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard who leads his Brentford team in fouls committed per game, with 1.6. He’s consistently given up free kicks across his 21 appearances this season and he’s one of the first names on the team sheet.

On Saturday he starts in the middle of the park against Liverpool’s midfield three, likely to include Alexis Mac Allister, Waturu Endo, and Curtis Jones, a trio with the legs and speed to cause problems for the Brentford midfield. Back Norgaard to give up two or more fouls as he tries to slow them down.
