7.45pm: Inter v Empoli – Inter To Win To Nil
TV: BT Sport 1
Serie A’s 3rd-placed side Inter host Empoli who are 12th on Monday night as they look to continue their fading title charge. The Milan club have lost just one of their last 10 Serie A clashes but they’re 10 points behind table-toppers Napoli as we approach the half-way stage.
Empoli, for their part, have just one loss in their last six league matches, winning three and drawing the other two. However, those three wins have all come against sides ranked 17th and lower.
Inter should have no problems getting the points here and they’ve won their last five Serie A home matches with four of those coming without conceding. To add on a bit of value I like Inter to Win to Nil.
8pm: Fulham v Tottenham – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
We’re heading back to England next where the high-flying Fulham take on the shaky Spurs at Craven Cottage. Sure Fulham are actually two places behind Tottenham in 7th, but they could overtake them with a win here – and what’s to say they won’t given the way it’s gone recently for these two?
The Cottagers had won four on the bounce before Newcastle were a little lucky to beat them last weekend. Spurs have won just one of their last five in the league, the 4-0 dismantling of Crystal Palace. I’m tempted to side with Fulham here but it would be so Spursy to lose to Arsenal, go 2-0 up at Manchester City only to lose, and then to go and win this match which has little significance for their fans.
While shirking picking a result, I think there might be goals in this. Tottenham have class going forward but they’ve repeatedly shown their flaws at the back. Fulham have scored in six of their last seven and there’s a nice price on Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals.
8:pm: Valencia v Almeria – Valencia Win & Over 1.5 Goals
TV: Viaplay Sports 1, LaLigaTV
The East coast of Spain is calling next for Valencia v Almeria. This is 12th hosting 14th and pretty much anything could happen if recent form is anything to go by. Valencia have won just one of their last eight league matches, drawing three and losing four.
Almeria have won one in their last five which have also seen two draws and two losses as well. Prior to their two draws and a loss in the last three Almeria had been on a run of winning at home and then losing away which consecutively ran across eight La Liga matches.
They stopped that run with a draw away at 18th-placed Cadiz but Valencia should be a cut above the team sat in the final relegation spot. With Almeria’s shocking away form it’s got to be Valencia to Win and Over 1.5 Goals.
8.15pm: Boavista v Chaves – The Draw
Last but not least it’s Portuguese Primeira Liga where Boavista take on Chaves. The home side have been underwhelming this season and they sit in 12th, three places and one point behind their visitors on Monday evening.
Boavista have won once in their last eight league games but that did come the last time they stepped out on home soil a fortnight ago. Chaves have won one of their last six with three draws and two losses in that run.
This should be really tight and it looks like it’s going to be low scoring as well with neither being involved in particularly exciting games of late. Chaves are pretty hard to beat and, with three draws in their last five, I’m not sure Boavista have the quality to see them off. At the price The Draw is very appealing in this match.
