Ecuador v Senegal – Senegal to Win
Although they lost to the Netherlands in their opening Group A match, Senegal came very close on a few occasions to opening the scoring and it was really just a late lapse at the back that saw Cody Gakpo open the scoring in the 84th minute.
And then, of course, they let in another as they tried desperately to grab a late equaliser.
They were very good last Friday against the hosts Qatar, winning 1-3 when really they could have scored a hatful. It’s all on the line, of course, in this one, both teams can qualify although Ecuador would scrape through with a draw so the onus will be on Senegal to attack from the start, which I’m sure they will.
Ecuador were good against Qatar in the opening game of the tournament and caused the Dutch a few problems, having five shots on target and they hit the crossbar in the second half too. They don’t have the quality of attacking players as their opponents, though, and I think it’ll be the African side who come out on top.

Netherlands v Qatar – Netherlands to Win 3-0
I think the Netherlands are going to give Qatar a mini-hiding and win by three goals to nil. PSV’s Cody Gakpo has looked very good, popping up to open the scoring in their first game and scoring an early goal against Ecuador last Friday. The Dutch top Group A going into this game and Qatar aren’t going to put up much of a fight against Louis van Gaal’s side. They’ve been pretty awful, albeit they did at least manage to get the ball over the line against Ecuador.
I really think the Dutch could run riot here, yes, the host nation will be desperate to get something positive but they just don’t have the talent in their ranks and I can see Gakpo scoring again and the Netherlands winning 3-0.
