Manchester City and Liverpool have been the two best teams in the country for a while but there’s no doubt City have pulled ahead now. Liverpool are weaker for losing Sadio Mane and City have strengthened tenfold by getting Erling Haaland in.
City still went and won the title without Haaland last year and, on that basis, I do think they’re going to win it at a canter again.

Liverpool can score three or four against anyone in the world, we’ve seen them do that before. They can definitely hurt City, especially with John Stones and Kyle Walker out.
Having said that, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake have come in and done such a good job. They’ve still got some very, very solid defenders and the best squad about.
I was doing City’s game on the telly in midweek, they had the sending off and they just saw the game out. They were peppering the goal with 11 men so I wouldn’t look too much into their contrasting results with Liverpool hammering Rangers 7-1. City have Haaland will come back in as well.
I give Liverpool a chance, though obviously City are strong favourites and I can’t sit here and say Liverpool are going to win. Liverpool are more than capable, I just don’t think they will the way things have been going recently.

I think City might win this 2-1, 3-1 or something like that, I think it will be competitive and I think there will be goals. It’s hard to see it being cagey, it’s just not how these two teams play.
I don’t think there will be any sitting back from Liverpool, I don’t think Jurgen Klopp knows how to play that way.
It is always expansive, forward-thinking football and Liverpool will go toe-to-toe with City.
Klopp would rather lose 3-1 than draw 0-0!
We’ve seen teams take Liverpool apart recently, like Brighton and Napoli. City are much more of a force than those attacking wise so there is the potential for a big score but you do feel that Liverpool are improving.
Erling Haaland to Score Anytime
I don’t think I need to tell you who I think might score for Manchester City! Erling Haaland’s a banker. I think I saw the other day he was 5/1 to score a hat-trick.
I remember when I was playing I’d be 7/1 to be the first goal scorer, let alone to score a hat-trick! Phil Foden’s getting overlooked though, I think he’s on double figures for the season now.
Mo Salah to Have 1 or More Shots on Target
I hope that Mo Salah can kick on now after his hat-trick in the week against Rangers, same with Darwin Nunez who got one as well. Those goals in the week will have given Salah a boost, he’s playing with confidence and enjoying himself again.
Kevin De Bruyne to Attempt 50 or More Passes
Bernardo Silva, I absolutely love him as a player, but I think Kevin De Bruyne’s been their main creator. That connection he seems to have with Haaland is phenomenal and I can see them linking up again at Anfield.
He’s huge for City and will be involved in everything.
