LAWRO: Brentford got smashed last week and Brighton lost to Tottenham, it’s interesting at Brighton at the moment with their new manager. Does he stick or twist with how they play? Brentford normally bounce back from a defeat and I’m just not sure what to expect from Brighton at the moment. Brentford 2-1 Brighton.

Saturday 12:30pm: Leicester v Crystal Palace
LAWRO: Leicester took the lead and lost to Bournemouth last week while Palace beat Leeds which was a good result for them. You thought Leicester would kick on after beating Nottingham Forest 4-0 but things are just not good there at the moment. Leicester 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Saturday 3pm: Fulham v Bournemouth
LAWRO: Gary O’Neil’s still in charge at Bournemouth and doing well. I think this will be a good game as both are doing well, better than I thought they would. Because of home advantage I’ll go with Fulham to win – just. Fulham 2-1 Bournemouth.

Saturday 3pm: Wolves v Nottingham Forest
LAWRO: Julen Lopetegui’s turned Wolves down for personal reasons so they’ll still be scurrying about looking for a new manager. It’s back to the drawing board and they’ve lost three in a row now. Diego Costa’s getting fitter and better and I don’t know if Nottingham Forest will be able to handle him. Wolves 1-0 Nottingham Forest.

Saturday 5.30pm: Tottenham v Everton
LAWRO: Everton are going well which has been a bit of a surprise for all of us, they’ve been really solid. Spurs had a good win in the Champions League during the week and Son Heung-min’s back amongst the goals. They’re a bit hit and miss but I’m pretty sure they’ll beat Everton. Tottenham 2-0 Everton.

Sunday 2pm: Aston Villa v Chelsea
LAWRO: I watched Aston Villa’s last two matches and, for all the control they had, they created very few opportunities. They’re not sure whether to go with one or two up front and when teams just set up to stop them that’s what happens, they stop them. It’s going well for Graham Potter at Chelsea, they’ve got a great squad and they all look like they want to impress him. Aston Villa 0-2 Chelsea.

Sunday 2pm: Leeds v Arsenal
LAWRO: I was very impressed with Arsenal against Liverpool last week. They conceded twice but still managed to get the win. I think Leeds got what they deserved against Crystal Palace which was nothing. The thing with Arsenal is that they’re expected to win and the pressure starts now with them but I think they’ll win this. Leeds 1-2 Arsenal.

Sunday 2pm: Manchester United v Newcastle
LAWRO: Newcastle come here on the back of a couple of very good wins. Manchester United will rotate a lot during the week so they’ll be fresh. Newcastle are a different kettle of fish this season, especially on the road, and they’ve got some good defensive players but I fancy a home win here. Manchester United 2-0 Newcastle.

Sunday 2pm: Southampton v West Ham
LAWRO: You get the feeling that somebody at Southampton is waiting to press the button and it’s not the manager. He’s having to defend himself after every game which is never good. West Ham won last time out and looked a lot like their old selves. Southampton 1-2 West Ham.

Sunday 4.30pm: Liverpool v Manchester City
LAWRO: I’m going to this and I’m really excited to see the sensation of the season in the flesh. Manchester City said Erling Haaland was tired and he didn’t play during the week but he’ll play against Liverpool. No doubt about that.
Liverpool were a little bit unlucky against Arsenal and they’re still conceding lots of goals. I think City will be happy to take a point here, regardless of how well they’re playing, and move on to next week. Liverpool 1-1 Manchester City.

Our punter’s picks
So, Mark Lawrenson’s had his crystal ball out for another round of Premier League predictions – and there’s £/€150 on the line in his latest duel with a Paddy Power punter.
Every Premier League matchday we’re putting up at least £/€50 – more if there’s a rollover – to anyone who can outsmart Lawro in predicting the outcome of that week’s games.
Nev from Kent took a whooping last weekend and Lawro had it into the bag heading into Monday Night Football which was lucky for him as our punter fired in a correct score there to make the score line a very respectable 13-10 in Lawro’s favour.

RESULTS
The weekend got off to a good start for Lawro as he took a slender 1-0 lead following Brentford’s Friday-night win over Brighton. And in Saturday’s early kick off, the Liverpool legend’s good form continued, with Leicester being held by Crystal Palace.
And in the 3pms Lawro doubled down on his advantage, picking up three points with his correct prediction that Wolves would beat Forest 1-0, although punter Richy did also back a Wolves win. He got one over on Lawro after picking up a point as Fulham drew with Bournemouth. But Lawro hit another three pointer with his spot-on 2-0 prediction for Tottenham to beat Everton.
It was a bumper Sunday of football, with five Premier League games, and Lawro got off to a flier with yet another three-pointer, as Chelsea beat Villa two goals to nil away from home, with punter Nev taking a point for backing a win for the Blues. Draws at both Old Trafford and St Mary’s meant that neither Nev nor Lawro picked up points from those two matches, but both picked up a point as Arsenal beat Leeds.
Going into the final game of the weekend, Lawro had an unassailable 12-5 lead, although Richy closed the gap by a single point after correctly predicting his beloved Liverpool would beat Man City at Anfield.
Another win for Lawro then, meaning ANOTHER rollover and the prize for beating our soccer nostradamus rising to £/€200. We go again midweek…
