Both Teams to Score
Manchester United began their league season with two disastrous results; losing 1-2 at home to Brighton before being thumped 4-0 away to Brentford. Since then however, the Red Devils have won four games in a row, scoring seven goals and conceding just two. Over their last seven home competitive games though they’ve conceded in six of them, they won four of those seven games, drawing two and losing one.
Sociedad’s form has seen them win two, draw one and lose one of their four games so far this season, scoring four while conceding five. Of their last five away games they won three, drew one and lost one, scoring six while conceding four. United’s form should see them take the three points here but with a shaky defence against an away side in decent scoring form we reckon a good place to start here is with a Both Teams to Score.
Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime
It looks like Marcus Rashford has cemented himself as the main attacking threat in Erik ten Hag’s new-look United. He’s played in all six of United’s Premier League games so far and has grown in confidence since they began their impressive run four games ago. The England international has rewarded his manager with three goals in his last two games, against Arsenal and Liverpool, and it certainly looks like having new signing Christian Eriksen behind him providing passes and through balls will pay dividends this season.
Adding former Ajax playmaker Antony into the mix as well means we’re surely going to see Rashford scoring a whole lot more than the five goals he managed last season. Getting a striker in good form at the odds available at the time of writing is screaming value at us here.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
Man United to Win
United have played six games so far this season, losing their opening two Premier League games before going on a run of four wins in-a-row. Real have won two, drawn one and lost one of their four games this campaign.
While the away side’s form is decent the fact is they’ve not come up against stronger sides that United have beaten of late, egged on by an Old Trafford crowd who are actually enjoying watching their team play for the first time in quite some while, as well as a team who are hitting their stride, we can only see one winner here.
Over 3.5 Goals
The home side have scored at least three goals in three of their last six on home soil and we’ve seen the away team scoring in five of their previous fixtures. Sociedad won’t be overawed by the occasion here; they tend to put up a good fight when facing the likes of Real and Atletico Madrid when travelling and Barcelona too. However, they’ve not scored enough of late to take the game to United and will sit back and try to score on the break.
United will be eager to continue their strong run and with the likes of Rashford and Antony aiming to impress, as well as Jadon Sancho who has started the season well, we see the most likely scoreline here being something like a 3-1 win to the Premier League side so we’ll include Over 3.5 Goals to complete the Bet Builder.
