Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira will square-off against Everton coach Duncan Ferguson in a WWE-style Hell in a Cell match-up, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.
‘Big Dunc’ called out the Frenchman after the Eagles boss was involved in an altercation with a supporter during a pitch invasion following the club’s 3-2 defeat at Goodison Park.
‘Hey, Patrick pal, heard you been booting Everton pitch invaders up the arse?’ roared the Scotsman into Paddy Power News cameras.
‘We cannae be having that, mate’.
‘So, me and you, square go, bare-bellies, Hell in a Cell’.
‘Think ya can handle that, Big Yin?’
Ferguson concluded the interview by putting an unsuspecting reporter’s head through a barbershop window made out of sugar glass, subsequently kicking off his heel-turn.
Upon hearing the challenge, Vieira arrived at Paddy Power News HQ to cut a promo of his own.
‘It’s so hard for me to sit back here, in this studio, looking at Big Dunc hollering my name’.
‘You’re talking to the woollen sweater-wearing, badge-kissing – WOO! – transfer wheeling-dealing, team bus riding, spectator kicking, son of a gun, WOOOOOOOOOO!’, yelled the 45-year-old while stripping to his underpants.
Meanwhile, WWE CEO Vince McMahon has agreed to sanction the bout following a reshuffle to the WWE Clash at the Castle match card in Cardiff in September.
‘I’ve wanted to work with Big Dunc for a long time’, the 76-year-old billionaire told Paddy Power News.
‘He reminds me of an early-90s Psycho Sid, only more unhinged and frightening’.
On Vieira, the wrestling mogul said:
‘I almost had Patrick signed up for a hard-core match with Roy Keane in 2005 but Alex Ferguson refused to release Roy as they’d a European game midweek’.
In an added twist, McMahon has appointed Premier League official Stuart Attwell as the special guest referee for the match-up.
Everton have already demanded a written apology by the WWE.
