While all eyes will be on this weekend’s season finale, which will almost certainly see Manchester City win their sixth Premier League title, plans are already in place to make Pep Guardiola’s side even more formidable next year.
Not content with their current crop of endless star talent, City will be favourites to defend their crown thanks to the addition of goal machine Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker heads to the Etihad this summer from Borussia Dortmund after scoring 86 goals in 89 games for the German side.
And when you add him to an outfit that has already scored a league-high 96 goals with one game to go, it’s hard to imagine the 21-year-old not dominating in England.

Haaland will likely be City’s top scorer next season, if he stays fit, but he could go one further and be the Top English Premier League Goalscorer in the 2022/23 campaign.
And if does land the Golden Boot, how many goals will he score? We’ve markets on Haaland to score 30 or more in the English Premier League next season, as well as Haaland to score 33+ goals in the English Premier League 2022/23 (that would break Mo Salah’s 38-game season record from 2017-18).
So, putting two-and-two together, if Haaland wins the Premier League Golden Boot, City will likely be right up there with a chance of retaining their title., right?

We won’t know next season’s fixtures for a while yet, but Haaland has the pace of a greyhound so you can expect him to come flying out the traps from day one.
