Southampton Win/Draw Double Chance v Aston Villa

Southampton are playing their best football of the season and pushing towards the upper reaches of their glass ceiling in the upper mid-table of the Premier League. Dominant wins over Norwich and Everton were preceded by draws against both Manchester clubs and a hugely impressive victory at Tottenham stadium. Whereas, I remain to be convinced by Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa who relied on a shot from long distance from Matty Cash and hopeful long punt which turned into a through ball for Ollie Watkins to defeat out of form Brighton to give Villa their first win in 7 games. According to the XG and my eye, Southampton look a better team than Villa and should do enough to avoid defeat.

Long Shot

Burnley to beat Chelsea

Chelsea look too short a price  given their misfiring attack and general stuttering form. Reece James’ returned from injury off the bench in midweek against and if he can return to his form of earlier in the season, it will enable Thomas Tuchel to play his preferred wing-back system which has malfunctioned in the absence of James and Ben Chilwell. But with James still on the path to recovery, Chelsea could struggle to break down Sean Dyche’s Claret and Blue bus. Burnley’s form has picked up in recent weeks and their recent win over Tottenham at Turf Moor will give them hope of pulling off the upset.

Kevin De Bruyne to have 2+ Shots on Target

De Bruyne leads City in shots per game this season and should get plenty of opportunities to let fly with Ralf Rangnick’s team likely camped in their own half for the majority of Sunday’s Manchester derby. The Belgian maestro has been playing superbly in recent weeks ago and may yet push for PFA Player of the Year award if City can keep Liverpool at bay.
