Saturday, March 5: 3pm – Newcastle v Brighton
TV: Premier Sports (Ireland only)
THOMMO: Newcastle have been on a really good run, but for Brighton it’s the opposite – and I’m going to stick with the formbook with my best bets for this one.
Newcastle are on a seven-match unbeaten run and have climbed four points clear of the relegation zone. It’s been incredible, really. They’ve won four of their last five Premier League games.
It’s all going their way, but Brighton aren’t having such a good time of it. They’ve lost their last three in the league without scoring.
In fact, they’ve won just three of their last 21 – although they did draw 12 of those.
Brighton do have a good record at St James’, having not conceded in their last four visits. But although it’s normally gone well for them there, they’re on such a poor run and that’s why I’m going for Newcastle to win.
I fancy a 2-0 scoreline.
And for a goalscorer, I like Chris Wood here. Here’s not got off the mark yet in six appearances following that big-money move from Burnley, but I fancy him to score against Brighton.
