Barcelona and Napoli are both playing in domestic action on Monday night. Napoli face a tricky trip away to Udinese where they’ll be hoping to keep their 100 per cent start to the Serie A season rolling. Barcelona host Granada at the Nou Camp and will be eager for some revenge after losing 1-2 to Granada in La Liga a few months ago. We’ve taken a deep dive into the stats to find a delightful Double that should get our week off to a dynamite start.

19.45: Udinese v Napoli – Both Teams to Score No Draw
While Napoli have a perfect record over their Serie A games so far, Udinese are unbeaten over their three league matches and also won their opening Coppa Italia match at a canter. Napoli also have four games to their name so far this season, three league wins and one away draw with Leicester City in the Europa League. They’ve been pretty clinical in front of goal, scoring two goals per game in all four of those matches. Udinese have scored nine over their four matches.
Napoli have beaten Udinese nine times over their 10 most recent encounters at both stadiums, the other ended level and at Udinese’s home ground, the Stadio Friuli, Napoli have won four of the last five meetings there with the other ending in a draw. Over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score landed in three of those five games.
Udinese have drawn one game at home so far this season but over their 19 last campaign they only saw four draws on home soil. For Napoli they only drew one of their 19 away league games last term. With both teams in decent goal-scoring form, Both Teams to Score looks pretty much nailed on here, the odds aren’t bad if you’d prefer to err on the side of caution, but with the lack of draws that both sides chalk up over their home and away games, and between each other, then we can extract some extra value here. We’re going with BTTS No Draw.
20.00: Barcelona v Granada – Barcelona to Win and BTTS
Barcelona have won two and drawn one of their La Liga matches thus far and were throunced 0-3 by Bayern Munich in the opening Champions League Group E match on Tuesday last. Granada are yet to win this season, drawing two and losing two of their La Liga games to date.
As mentioned in the intro, Granada beat Barcelona here last season, it was an absolute disaster of a match for the home side. Had they won they could have topped the table and we can only speculate on what might have been should that have happened. Granada came from behind in the match and such were manager Ronald Koeman’s protests at their second goal that he received a red card. It was Granada’s first win at the Nou Camp in eight attempts and six of those games saw Barca winning to nil.
Barca’s defence last season wasn’t exactly mighty, even though they scored a very healthy 2.32 goals per home La Liga match they conceded 1.05 per game. Granada scored 1.16 on their league outings last season, conceding 2.11. Barcelona have conceded a total of seven over their four games this season and looking at Granada’s away form in La Liga, they’ve managed to score at least one in eight of their last 10 away games.
It’s a bit of a risky one here as Granada have only scored two goals over their four league games so far this season but this Barcelona defence is a bit of a mess and Granada’s away scoring record coupled with Barca’s lack of quality at the back means they should be able to get one at least. Barcelona though are by far the better team and, aside from the Bayern game, have been impressive going forward against teams so should take the three points. The value here then is in backing the home side and both teams to score.
