Ronaldo fumes as Ali Daei boasts “I’m still the GOAT”

Iranian soccer legend Ali Daei taunted Cristiano Ronaldo by insisting he is ‘still the GOAT’ after the Portuguese failed to break his international goal scoring record.

Portugal’s Round of 16 exit at the hands of Belgium left Ronaldo tied with Daei on 109 goals.

Following the defeat, the former Al Shabab striker goaded his Portuguese counterpart by unleashing his washboard abs and declaring himself the greatest footballer of all time.

‘Ronaldo? Never heard of her’, Daei told Paddy Power News while smothering his abdominal muscles in baby oil.

‘I am still the GOAT and my record will never be beaten’.

‘Sure, Ronaldo has scored a World Cup hat-trick against Spain but has he ever scored a brace in a 17-0 win over The Maldives?’.

‘It took him 179 games to score 109 goals. It only took me 149. And 5 of those were against the famous Sri Lankan back-four of ‘96’.

‘And look at these abs at 52? I haven’t eaten a carb since the 2000 AFC Asian Cup’.

Ronaldo was left seething by Daei’s remarks and vowed to break the Iranian’s record by any means necessary – except free-kicks.

‘I’ll reach 110 international goals if it’s the last thing I do – unless the last thing I do is line up a free-kick about 30-yards from goal’, the 36-year-old told Paddy Power News.

‘In which case, I’ll likely remain on 109 goals and some poor prick in Row Z will get smashed in the face with the ball’.

‘I have requested the Portuguese FA make contact with the national associations of Kyrgyzstan, Nepal and Guam to arrange friendlies, so I can emulate the goalscoring feats of Mr Daei’.

Meanwhile, the Belgian FA have asked UEFA to allow them to call up some extended members of the Hazard family following a host of injuries sustained during last night’s game.

42-year-old uncle Jean-Claude Hazard, 9-month old baby girl Martine Hazard and 82-year-old grandmother Nora Hazard remain on standby.
