For Wednesday night’s European action we’ve found a very tasty looking four-fold acca bursting at the seams with value. We’ll be looking at the big match of the evening where Chelsea take on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.

We’ll also be taking a look at two Portuguese league matches where leaders Sporting are in action and there’s a relegation six-pointer too. There’s one from the Greek Super League too, where second host fourth with next season’s European places up for the taking.

19:00: Maritimo v Gil Vicente – Maritimo to Win

Maritimo and Gil Vicente occupy 12th and 13th in the league at the time of writing. The home side are just four points above safety while the away team are just three.

Both obviously need to win here to stay above what’s going on below them and most interestingly of all between the 60 league matches between them this season only eight have ended as a draw.

Maritimo are on a good run of late, winning four of their last six, losing the other two. At home they’ve rallied of late to stay above the relegation zone, winning their last three in the row, they had been on a run of six home defeats prior to that.

Vicente have only won one of their last five league matches, drawing one and losing three but their league travels have seen them winning three and losing five. Maritimo have won three of their last five meetings and Vicente have only won away to Maritimo once over their last 15 visits. The home team has the value here with that record.

19:30: AEK Athens v PAOK – Both Teams to Score

The Greek Super League has broken off into its Championship group. Olympiakos are running away with the league but the remainder of the European places remain to be decided. AEK trail in fourth on 55 points, PAOK currently occupy second with 58 points.

AEK have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five league games. At home it’s only slightly better where they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one.

PAOK has also won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five in the league. Away from home things aren’t so good as they’ve won just one, drawn one and lost three. Looking at previous meetings here, four out of the last five in all competitions ended level with PAOK winning one. In league encounters only, AEK have won one with the other four ending level.

AEK are averaging 1.63 goals at home in their league games this season while PAOK are scoring 1.31. Both teams are pretty even and it’s tough to pick a winner but there’s great value in Both Teams to Score considering their high averages.

20:00: Chelsea v Real Madrid – Both Teams to Score

With an away goal to their name after last week’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid, Chelsea certainly have the advantage here and the market has them as pretty strong favourites. They’re on a good run of late having lost just two of their last 15 in all competitions.

However, of their last five at home they’ve lost two, drawing one and winning two. Real Madrid have won just two of their last five in all competitions, drawing the other three. Their away form has seen them winning three and drawing two of their last five and in the Champions League when playing away they’ve only lost three of their last 12 matches.

Thomas Tuchel’s defensive coaching at Chelsea has earned him plenty of praise and rightfully so, of their last 12 home matches in all competitions they only conceded in two. However, keeping Sheffield United, Brighton and Fulham scoreless isn’t the same as keeping Real Madrid scoreless.

Over their nine most recent away European matches, Real have only been kept scoreless three times and with them needing at least one goal here to force possible Extra Time and penalties they’ll have to come out fighting and they’re certainly good enough for one. Both Teams to Score is the way to go here.

21:15: Rio Ave v Sporting – Sporting to Win to Nil

Sporting lead the Primeira Liga and are six points ahead of Porto in second place. They’ve won three of their last five matches, drawing the other two and kept three clean sheets over those games. Away from home they’ve won six of their last eight, drawing the other two, keeping six clean sheets as well.

Rio have scored a solitary goal over their four most recent fixtures. Looking at just their home games they’ve won one of their last five, drawing three and losing one. However, they only managed to score in two of those games. Sporting are short odds favourites here but we can exploit their stingy defence and Rio’s lack of goals. The value lies with Sporting to Win to Nil.

Wednesday’s acca summary:

19:00: Maritimo v Gil Vicente – Maritimo to Win
19:30: AEK Athens v PAOK – Both Teams to Score
20:00: Chelsea v Real Madrid – Both Teams to Score
21:15: Rio Ave v Sporting – Sporting to Win to Nil

All four of these picks in a four-fold acca will give you odds of 23/1.
