Bournemouth v Southampton
Saturday 12:15: Bournemouth v Southampton
BT Sport 1
I fancy Bournemouth in this one. They’re coming in on the back of a great result against Swansea, where they won 3-0. That was Bournemouth’s first win in three so it was much needed. As for Southampton, what has happened to them? I was with Matt Le Tissier this week and he is as devastated as me about Liverpool’s poor defeats at home!
They’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games, picking up four points from 36 available. They’ve won just two of their last 17 Premier League games which is shocking. I fancy Bournemouth here. They’ll be fired up and Southampton have completely gone off it. I’ll go Bournemouth to win 2-1 and Dominic Solanke to score anytime.
Everton v Man City
Saturday 17:30: Everton v Man City
BT Sport 1
Man City are the favourites here and I can’t go against Pep Guardiola’s men. Everton might change their style against City and go long often to try and rattle Pep’s side. They’ll go long up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison to try and play in City’s half.
Everton aren’t great at playing out from the back and if they do, City could counter-press and pick them off. Everton will have to be at their best to beat City. They are flying at the moment and they dominated in the Champions League this week. They beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 but they toyed with them, it could have been eight!
Defensively they’re so solid and they can score every time they go forward. The only way Everton can win is by playing to their strengths, which is their aerial ability. They’ve scored the most headed goals in the Premier League this season.
I think City will win but it might be tight. I fancy City to win 2-1 and Phil Foden to score anytime.
