Manchester United take on Italian giants AC Milan on Thursday night at the San Siro for the second leg of their Last 16 Europa League tie. Formwise there’s not much between these sides at the minute; both are dropping points and struggling for wins, taking victory in just two of their last five fixtures. Comparing home vs away matches though it’s Man United who hold the upper hand.
Milan have won just one of their last five in all competitions while United have won two and drawn three. United have the slightly better Europa League form too – they’ve won one and drawn two of their three matches since the end of the group stage while Milan have drawn all three of theirs.
It’s really tight between these two but Milan’s lack of good home form coupled with United’s record of having now lost just one of their last 15 on their travels means we have to go with the Red Devils to prevail here.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Score Anytime
The Big lad has been training this week after another injury and should be ready in time for this clash. He’s been outstanding for the Rossoneri this season, scoring 14 league goals over 14 league appearances, scoring one in two in the Coppa Italia and one in five in the Europa League.
Zlatan has faced Man United only two times over his career and has never played in a side that beat them. He’s the main threat for Milan and while we’ve tipped United to beat the home side over the 90 minutes we like the odds on the former Man United man to make it a tough night for his old teammates.

Over 3.5 Goals
Milan have a fairly healthy goals record at home in the league this season with 1.79 goals scored on average. Their defence though is pretty leaky, they’re allowing 1.43 goals on average per home match. In the Europa League five of their 11 have seen Over 3.5 goals with six seeing Over 2.5 goals (seven if we included injury time).
Only three of Man United’s Europa League matches have seen Over 2.5 goals but they have to go for it here as they’re trailing Milan on away goals. Milan though don’t have a good enough defence to sit back and soak up pressure for 90 minutes trying to frustrate Man United so will also have to go for a positive result.
We should see both sides going at this and with much of their firepower coming back from injuries we think we should be in for a cracking match between two giants of European football here.
