Paddy Power ambassador, Liverpool legend, all round good egg and 42-capped England defender Phil Thompson is up bright and early for Saturday’s lunchtime kick off in the Premier League. It’s another big one this week in the shape of Arsenal v Manchester United.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

The Gunners pulled off something of a surprise 4-2 win over Chelsea in an error-strewn game while United were entirely-predictably dismantled by Liverpool during the week. Arsenal in 5th can put a six-point gap between themselves and United in 6th win a win. Can they get it? Here’s Thommo’s Arsenal v Manchester United tips.

Saturday 12.30pm: Arsenal v Manchester United

TV: BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate

Who wants the 4th place, that’s the big thing, isn’t it? It’s like the Grand National, everybody’s falling at different fences! But you look at Manchester United, I saw them midweek and my goodness they were dreadful.

They’re without leadership, they’re without heart, without soul, without direction. Erik ten Hag coming in, hopefully, will give people a little bit of a boost because it’s not gone well for them.

On the field they’ve won just two of their last nine in all competitions, they’ve won just two of their last seven in the Premier League. They need to get themselves into gear to try and get this 4th place.

When you look at it, they’re unbeaten, Manchester United, in their last 13 in the capital. That’s quite interesting for them but they’ve lost their last three away Premier League games. They just keep slipping up.

I could say the same about Arsenal because Arsenal have been slipping up, haven’t they? They’ve lost their last two home Premier League games but what a big result it was against Chelsea, absolutely massive!

They’ve won 32 points at home, there’s only Liverpool and Manchester City who have accrued more points at home than Arsenal. So, them being at home, I’m going for Arsenal to Win and I do fancy Both Teams to Score.

Bukayo Saka’s having an absolutely terrific season. He scored a great penalty under big pressure at Chelsea so I’m going for Saka to Score Anytime.
