As a Man United fan I’ve been very jealous of Chelsea recently. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should have never got the job. That win in Paris… they were on a hiding to nothing against Barcelona in the next round. They had to give him the job but… they were lucky wins.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

He got the job and now United are where they are. Whereas, in the meantime, if he hadn’t been given it potentially Thomas Tuchel ends up in the United dugout, potentially they get Mauricio Pochettino more sooner hopefully than they will.

But, looking at Chelsea, you can only be jealous because of the process that he’s bought in. He’s improved them since taking over from Frank Lampard. That’s obvious, it shows up in the metrics.

Sunday 4.30pm: Chelsea v Manchester United

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Offensively Lampard was doing quite well with Chelsea but defensively there’s been a massive improvement with that Chelsea side since Tuchel took over. The price on Chelsea to win is just a little bit short but I do fear and I do worry for United going up against Chelsea.

Chelsea are in that bracket with Liverpool and Manchester City and we’ve seen what they did to United recently and you’d be worried that the same can happen again. If this was the start of the season and the narrative was different around United that Chelsea price is about 4/5.

That’s why I’m a bit cautious, it looks a little bit short. Having said that, if you’re doing a Bet Builder for this game Chelsea to Win is a solid leg to be putting in it. If Cristiano Ronaldo’s on the pitch you’ve always got a chance of getting a goal so Both Teams Could Score. We’ve spoken about how good Chelsea are defensively.

Chelsea to Win and Under 3.5 Goals

Given the fact that I’ve alluded that Chelsea should Win the match, the angle that I would be looking at is Chelsea and Under 3.5 Goals in the game. If United do score that bet will still click with the Chelsea win.

That bumps the price up at lot. It clicks so, so often with Chelsea under Tuchel because they do not concede goals or give up many chances. It’s a really good angle to have a look at. But, like I say, with Ronaldo on the pitch there’s always the chance United could score.
