** Burnley v Spurs has been postponed due to snow.

Everyone is aware of that weird period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. You know the one. You haven’t a notion what day it is; what time it is – and the only thing you’re acutely aware of is that you’ll be having turkey sambos with a pinch of salt for dinner. Again.

Well, this Sunday is a bit of a preview to that nonsense with a bucketload of games scheduled for Sunday at 2pm. Multi-screen, commence!

Brentford v Everton – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Premier League & Main Event

Everton are a funny one. They’re spluttering along and there appears to be a severe lack of intensity about the way they’re playing, despite the fact they have some level of expectation on them, given the managerial appointment of Rafa Benitez.

They haven’t won in six and it feels like they’re at a crossroads in their season. They can no longer afford to be overrun as their counter-attacking approach isn’t doing them justice. Likely to be on the front foot here, they’ll be particularly open and give various chances to a Brentford side who have seen the overs land in six of their last seven games in the competition.

Burnley v Spurs – Spurs to Win

Oh thank the lord for Spurs losing on Thursday. A win would have given them notions about being able to put a weak performance here down to Thursday’s trip to the continent but now, if someone performs poorly twice in a row, I do genuinely believe Antonio Conte will throw them off the top of that shiny new stadium.

Burnley are much better away from home, and Spurs’ sense of urgency here should land them the spoils in comfortable enough fashion.

Leicester v Watford – Watford and the Draw

It’s been a tough slog for Leicester and while I know it’s easy to overreact to a Watford performance like the one against Manchester United given the context, let me try to rationalise it.

I think United’s players’ desire to embarrass themselves is somewhat overstated now, and genuinely, a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road would have been enough to sack Ole anyway.

Watford thumped them and they thumped them because they were brilliant. I don’t like momentum in the Premier League – I’m unsure it’s ever existed outside of, ironically, Leicester – but seeing The Hornets grab a point against a Leicester unit that look like they’re at the end of their run is far from a bad odds-against shot.

Man City v West Ham – Both Teams to Score: No

West Ham are a side people get carried away with. City at home are a different animal and now with Bernardo Silva on form, they genuinely don’t give the ball away whatsoever. West Ham operate best when they can win the ball higher up the pitch, but they’ll be camped inside their own 18-yard box.

Don’t even get me started on their historical head-to-heads.
