Managerless Manchester United could be bracing themselves for another footballing lesson as they head south to take on Chelsea on Sunday. Thomas Tuchel’s Blues are in fine fettle and swept aside Juventus in the Champions League during the week.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Ralf Rangnick looks poised to come in and try and steady the ship at Old Trafford until the end of the season but he’s not going to be in place for this game. One man who is all over it is Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson who’s here to deliver his verdict on the weekend’s biggest game with his Chelsea v Manchester United tips.
Sunday 4.30pm: Chelsea v Manchester United
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
What you worry about with Manchester United is what’s going on behind the scenes because there are things coming out about players not happy with the coaching, they’re not happy with the management. Michael Carrick is similar to what they’ve had, I don’t think he’ll change the coaching much.
From what I’m hearing there was a lot of backchat from the leading players at United who were stirring things behind the scenes. I think they need to sort that out as much as they need to nail what their management structure’s going to be.
I’m looking at this and it’s hard to see Manchester United keeping a clean sheet because they’ve conceded 21 Premier League goals – only the bottom two have shipped more! But, United are unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League games in London… I’m just trying to give them a bit of hope!
They’re unbeaten in their last seven meetings against Chelsea too. I am going to go for a slight victory for Chelsea, I don’t think it will be a goal glut – Chelsea to Win 2-1.
I do fancy Both Teams To Score, I really do. I’m going for Romelu Lukaku to Score Anytime, hoping that he’ll play. Do check the team sheets. But that, I fancy as my bets.
