After running through the group stage like Forrest Gump in his prime, and the discovery of the king himself Denzel Dumfries, the Netherlands have somehow overcome being managed by a man who’s Premier League record is almost as bad as his government name – Franciscus de Boer.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
To be fair to them, being managed by De Boer in an international competition is like being led through a minefield in the dark, backwards, by a blind man. Yet somehow they’ve successfully navigated it so far. But, it’s all about the next opponent and the next game. All eyes are now fully focused towards the match up between the Netherlands and the Schick Republic which has all the elements of an absolute belter. Now, let’s get looking at what we can stick in a Bet Builder for Sunday’s early game.
Sunday 5pm: The Netherlands v Czech Republic
ITV and ITV Hub
Netherlands to Win
The Dutch are looking very strong at this tournament with a blistering attack, focused around half-man half-lamp-post Wout Weghorst and former Manchester United reject turned Lyon superstar Memphis Depay. Rumour has it, before every game Denzel Dumfries rubs Gini Wijnaldum’s shoulder and wishes for three things – a win, a shot on target and de Boer’s resignation. So far, he’s only had two of three granted, but it doesn’t stop him from trying. Expect to see Netherlands come away with the win in this one.
Patrik Schick to have 1 or more shots on target
Patrik Schick is always good for a shot on target in fairness to him. Schick has more successful shots on target at the tournament than Robert Lewandowski in two fewer attempts. If that doesn’t scream clinical then I don’t know what does. Three things are guaranteed in this life, Death, Taxes and Paddy Schick to have a shot or more on target.
Over 2.5 Goals
The Dutch love two things; scoring loads and making it look like they’re about to throw a game away by conceding late goals to bring the opposition back into it. The Czechs actually have some fire power, so we could absolutely see Over 2.5 Goals in this game, especially with 87-year-old Maarten Stekelenburg between the sticks for The Netherlands.
Memphis Depay to Score Anytime
Depay is incredible, he had a fantastic season at Lyon and is the main goal threat for this Dutch side. He’s cool as ice under pressure and has already bagged himself. He might only have two goals to his name so far but expect to see Depay Score Anytime on Sunday.
Vladimir Coufal to be booked
Coufal is a great right back, but he’s going to be up against Depay, Wijnaldum and Weghorst all day long with supporting runs up against him by Patrick Van Aanholt. Expect him to be caught out at least once and end up getting himself booked.
