Crawley Town’s interest in Erling Haaland has intensified after boss Scott Lindsey dispatched scouts to watch the Manchester City striker in action against Real Madrid.
The Crawley manager asked his scouts to monitor the 23-year-old, who took in last night’s Champions League quarter-final clash featuring Haaland.
Lindsey believes the Norwegian has all the attributes needed to forge a successful career in League Two and is hoping to lure the striker to the Broadfield Stadium this summer.
‘With the right attitude and a lot of hard work, Erling could really flourish in League Two’, Lindsey told Paddy Power News.
‘He’s decent in the air and he’s got great feet for a big man. He just needs to work on his off the ball stuff to make it at this level’.
It’s understood Lindsey is prepared to offer City out-of-favour Crawley forward Ade Adeyemo as part of any deal to get the transfer over the line.
‘I’ve spoken to Ade and he’s willing to go to City – IF the money is right’.
‘Provided the board can get the deal done in time, we’d love to have Erling as part of the squad for our pre-season tour of Norfolk’.
‘His dad knows how much we want the lad. We sent them a Costa Coffee voucher. The ball’s in their court really’.
Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police have called off their missing person’s search for Haaland after he turned up in Antonio Rudiger’s back pocket.
‘Our search was called off this morning after a 23-year-old Norwegian man responding to the name of Erling was found alive and well in a Real Madrid defender’s pocket’.
‘The man said he had spent the night there and apologised for any worry he caused Manchester City fans who might have been concerned about his whereabouts’.
