Fulham v Liverpool: Mo Salah instantly recovers from AFCON injury to start Carabao Cup semi

Mo Salah has returned to Liverpool from the AFCON to treat his hamstring injury - and, hey presto, he's suddenly fine!

Liverpool goal-machine Mo Salah is expected to start tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash with Fulham after making a miraculous recovery from an injury he sustained while on international duty with Egypt.

Salah was replaced during Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast on Thursday and was expected to be ruled out for a month with a hamstring tear.

However, the 31-year-old could make a sensational return for the Reds after undergoing a hamstring transplant and intensive rehabilitation programme at Kirkby this morning.

‘Mo is recovering well after the operation and will start tonight’, a grinning Jurgen Klopp told Paddy Power News.

‘I want to thank our medical staff who managed to find him a hamstring donor at such short notice’.

Klopp reserved special praise for a ‘Dr Steph O’Scope’ who he claims carried out the complicated 15-minute procedure.

‘I want to thank Dr. O’ Scope who performed this groundbreaking surgery shortly before burning all her notes and emigrating to Panama’.

Meanwhile, Salah’s speedy recovery has led to scathing criticism from Egypt legend Ahmed Hassan who accused the forward of plotting his departure from the Africa Cup of Nations.

‘This is a conspiracy involving Salah, Liverpool, Bill Gates and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department who framed Steven Avery’, Hassan told Paddy Power News.

‘How can someone recover so quickly from a hamstring transplant? Who is this mysterious doctor? Who tampered with that vial of Avery’s blood? What caused the small hole in the vial? A hypodermic needle?’

Hassan’s claims were supported by former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier who tweeted:

‘Salah’s shirt number is 11. If you multiply that by two it gives you 22, which is the same Wrestlemania Brendan Dassey missed after making a coerced confession to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department’.

‘Makes you think, doesn’t it?’.
