Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed how he has always dreamed of playing for Saudi giants Al Nassr.
The Portuguese is said to have agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal which would see him playing at the highest level of Saudi Arabian football until the age of 40.
A free agent, Ronaldo is said to have rejected offers from a host of elite clubs across Europe in order to secure the move, including Barnsley, Merthyr Tydfil and Partick Thistle.
‘Ever since I was a little boy kicking a ball around the streets of Santo António, it’s always been my dream to play for Al Nassr’, an emotional Ronaldo told Paddy Power News.
‘Growing up, I used to watch YouTube videos of Majed Ahmed Abdullah scoring goals and always hoped that one day I would pull on the famous yellow and blue jersey’.
‘I wanted to continue playing at the highest level and Al Nassr can offer me the chance to play in the Asian Champions League’.
When asked if money was a motivating factor behind his decision to deliberately get himself sacked by Manchester United and move to the Saudi Pro League, the 37-year-old said:
‘The £173million per year doesn’t interest me at all’.
‘I just want to get as far away as possible from Piers Morgan’.
‘I tried blocking his number, but he turned up at my house in the middle of the night’.
‘He was crying and showed me a tattoo he got done of us “siuuuing” together on his left buttock’.
‘I told him ‘Piers, go home. It’s 4am’ but he got really mad and said Richard Keys and Andy Gray had better bants than I did’.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
Meanwhile, the former Real Madrid star has revealed what happened after he tried to nick Portugal’s first goal against Uruguay on Monday.
‘Bruno swung the ball in, and I could’ve sworn I got a touch on it with my head’.
‘Unfortunately, FIFA said Harry Kane had already claimed it’.
