Almirón cracking Jack Grealish jokes in Newcastle dressing room

The tables have turned

Miguel Almirón was overheard mocking Jack Grealish in the Newcastle United dressing room following his side’s 1-0 victory over Everton at St James’ Park last night.

The Paraguayan international cheekily said teammate Joelinton deserved to be substituted at half-time as he was ‘playing like Jack Grealish’.

Joelinton was replaced at the interval after a lackluster first-half display against the Toffees which led Almirón to make the unkind comparison with Manchester City’s record signing.

It’s understood the Brazilian midfielder reacted angrily to the jibe, which is regarded in footballing circles as the ultimate insult.

Discussing the incident, Almirón told Paddy Power News: ‘I’d like to offer my apologies to Joelinton. I went too far’.

‘I did not understand the seriousness of what I said until I spoke to some of the English lads in the dressing room’.

‘To be compared to an overpriced benchwarmer with a silly haircut and freakishly big calves must have been incredibly painful for Joelinton’.

‘I am sorry for the hurt I have caused him. I hope in time, I can earn his forgiveness’.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe addressed the situation during his post-match press conference and said that players must educate themselves about Jack Grealish.

‘Joelinton’s in bits’, revealed Howe.

‘The club will offer him all the support he needs right now while he deals with being likened to Jack’.

‘Miguel knows he’s crossed the line and the matter will be dealt with internally’.

‘But maybe we’ll let the pair of them knock seven shades of sh*te out of each other on the St James’ pitch like Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer?’.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

In related news, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes said his man-of-the-match display against Tottenham was down a text message he received from Jack Grealish.

‘I got a hold of Jack’s number and begged him to say I was sh*te’, said the Portuguese.

‘He replied back immediately with several poo emojis and that’s when I knew my season would turn around’.
