After it emerged Barcelona will wear an owl on their jersey in El Clasico to celebrate Drake reaching 50 billion streams on Spotify, League One outfit Sheffield Wednesday have taken aim at the Canadian rapper in a diss track.
The La Liga side announced a partnership with the music streaming service Spotify earlier in the year and the acclaimed rapper’s owl logo will be emblazoned on their famous Blaugrana shirt for Sunday’s meeting with Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.

However, the move has infuriated all those associated with Sheffield Wednesday, particularly the club’s mascot Ozzie the Owl who accused Drake of plagiarising their club’s crest.
In response, Ozzie released a remix of Eminem’s track ‘The Real Slim Shady’, featuring a freestyle verse which takes aim at the Hotline Bling singer.
The rhymes include references to the ‘Drake Curse’ whereby teams and individuals suffer misfortune after taking selfies with the rapper.
‘I’m Ozzie Owl, yes, I’m the real owl, all you other OVO owls are just imitating, so won’t the real Ozzie Owl put your wings up, put your wings up, put your wings up’, rapped the Sheffield Wednesday mascot.
Paddy Power News understands Drake is teaming up with Lil Wayne to respond to the 7ft owl with a diss track of his own.
In related news, when word of Drake’s collaboration with the Catalan giants reached Camp Nou, Barca boss Xavi offered to forfeit the game against their fiercest rivals.
‘Drake? That’s us f**ked. Just give Real the points already’, Xavi told Paddy Power News.
‘Never mind an owl, they may as well stick a black cat breaking a mirror while opening an umbrella indoors on the jersey instead!’.
‘Any of my players caught taking selfies with Drake before El Clasico will be fined two weeks’ wages – not that we pay them any wages here at Barca.
‘But still, it’s the principal of the matter’.
*Paddy Power’s breaking news coverage is just complete nonsense, every word of it. Honest.
