Steven Gerrard is in the “form of his life” according to former Liverpool teammates as he looks to help the Reds lift the Premier League title this weekend.
Multiple sources have told Paddy Power News that Stevie G is considering picking himself for Aston Villa’s trip to the Etihad on Sunday, where they will attempt to put a spanner in Manchester City’s title aspirations.
“He’s been out on the training pitch 24/7 these past couple of weeks to be ready for this one. He’s like a living, breathing Rocky training montage,” one explained.
“I think I even saw him punch a cow carcass then lift it over his head just cos he could, no lie!“ said another.
Gerrard is said to be putting in so much effort to finally pick up a Premier League winners medal that eluded him at Anfield.

“Steve’s had the Villa lads in a huddle all week drumming it into them that they ‘Don’t let this slip.’” we were told.
“There’s quotes posted up all over the training ground and he’ll also be pinning one up in the dressing-room at The Etihad.”
The Villa Park boot room boys have also had a busy week with Gerrard reportedly obsessing over what footwear he’ll be wearing on Sunday, should he decide to anchor the midfield.
“He’s been doing sessions with a long stud, a short stud and even the moulds, making sure nothing has been left to chance.
“He’s even put the weather app on his phone to keep track of conditions in Manchester, and there’s a pair of flippers in his gearbag if the groundsman over-waters the pitch.”
And although Liverpool will be playing down the East Lancs Road in an effort to overturn the one-point deficit on the final day against Wolves, the Villa gaffer may wear a Liverpool shirt under his Villa one just in case results go favourably, we were told.
A Villa insider revealed that: “The boss has an Uber booked for straight after the final whistle. He’s hoping to get straight to Anfield in full kit, John Terry style, to pick up his winners medal.”
And Gerrard could bring along a few familiar Anfield faces for the ride.
“Gary McAllister and Phillippe Coutinho’ll jump in the back too – and Phil’s promised to pick up a medal for the gobsh*te from Barcelona who paid £120m for him too cos he f**king deserves one.”
