La Liga investigate claims Aubameyang arrived on time for Barca training

Was an alarm clock part of the deal?

La Liga are investigating reports Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived on time for a Barcelona training session.

It’s understood the Gabonese striker turned up at Barca’s training base at the requested time and without a club chaperone.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, La Liga will investigate the claims of Aubameyang’s alleged punctuality despite officials initially dismissing them as a hoax.

The former Borussia Dortmund star spoke out on the subject this morning and confirmed the rumours are true.

‘It’s true, I was on time’, the 32-year-old told Paddy Power News.

‘Normally, I hit the snooze button a few hundred times then arrive at training about an hour late’.

‘But I was woken in the middle of the night by a terrible dream that I was back at Arsenal’.

‘Every time I closed my eyes, I could see Granit Xhaka, Cédric Soares and Nicolas Pépé. It was awful’.

‘I stayed awake and watched The Exorcist just to take my mind off it’.

‘So I thought since I was already up, I may as well get to training on time for once’.

Club sources revealed how Aubameyang’s teammates thought it was a prank when they arrived at training and saw his £270k Lamborghini Aventador already in the car park.

‘We thought that Auba had maybe gone for a drink after training and left his car behind’, the source told Paddy Power News.

‘I couldn’t believe it when the receptionist said he’d arrived on time for once’.

‘He told us about the awful nightmare he had. He was still pretty shaken up by it. I really hope I never end up at Arsenal’, added the source with a shiver.

Meanwhile, Barca boss Xavi said his players are all geared up for the return of Champions League football this week.

‘The plan is clear. On Tuesday night we will watch the Kanye West documentary on Netflix and on Wednesday we’ll watch Pam & Tommy on Disney+’, the Spaniard revealed.
