Premier League confirms Salah will referee Liverpool-Leicester clash

No end to his talents

The Premier League has today confirmed that Liverpool forward Mo Salah is set to officiate his side’s clash with Leicester this week, following his dazzling performances at the African Cup of Nations.

Widely accepted as one of the best footballers in world, the tricky Egyptian has also made a name for himself in the world of refereeing, where he continues to take charge of decision making during any match he plays.

“He’s been marvellous at the African Cup of Nations” confirmed a Premier League delegate.

“He dictated games from start to finish and didn’t allow himself to get bullied by anybody, especially the actual referee.

“He’s shown promise in this area ever since he joined Liverpool, learning from players like Jordan Henderson on the best way to stick his oar where it is absolutely not required until he gets his own way.

“However, over the past few weeks he has taken his refereeing form to another level. He decides when a foul should be given, which player should be booked, how long is needed for stoppage time and anything else he sees fit, so we’ve decided the best thing for us to do now is give him a whistle and put him in charge, officially.”

Upon hearing the news of Salah’s new role as a match official, Premier League referee Mike Dean has joined forces with a group of referees, past and present, in an attempt to block the decision and remain the top reffing dog.

“How dare he try to take centre stage away from Mike Dean. Nobody does this to Mike Dean.

“Nobody.”

“The Premier League is a circus and Mike Dean is the ringmaster,” Mike Dean proclaimed in a video on the official Mike Dean Instagram account.

“Enough is enough. We’ve played nicely, losing a lot of our focus to that f*cking VAR computer, but this is going too far. Myself, Uriah Rennie, Steve Bennett, Graham Poll, Paul Durkin, David Elleray, Michael Oliver, Mark Clattenburg and Jeff Winter have all decided this takes the p*ss, so we will be heading down to the Premier League headquarters to put a stop to it.

“If they don’t listen to us, I’ll be on the phone to the proper heavyweights for support, as I know Howard Webb, Pierluigi Collina and Kim Milton Nielsen will not like what’s happening here. This is far from over.”
