Rafa Benitez has Liverpool tattoo lasered off ahead of Everton appointment

Ouch!

Rafael Benitez is having laser tattoo removal treatment ahead of a proposed move to Everton, Paddy Power News understands.

The former Valencia boss underwent a painful 10-hour session to have a sprawling liver bird tattoo removed from the calf muscle on his left leg.

New to Paddy Power?

It’s believed Benitez had the ink done shortly after guiding the Toffee’s bitter-rivals Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2005.

However, the Spaniard is keen to play down any past affiliation with the Anfield club now he’s been earmarked to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the Goodison Park hot seat.

Photos emerged online last night of the former Real Madrid boss exiting a Liverpool-based skin clinic, leading to suggestions he was having laser tattoo removal treatment.

When asked to comment, the owner of the clinic told Paddy Power News:

‘We can confirm a 61-year-old man underwent a procedure yesterday to have a liver bird tattoo removed from his lower leg’.

‘He told us he got it done while on a drunken night out with the lads in Turkey a few years ago’.

‘Apparently his missus when “ape sh*t” when he got home and she saw it’.

‘We warned him that laser treatment can be a very long and painful process but he told us if he could stick 3-years in Newcastle he could stick anything’.

Meanwhile, news of Carlo Ancelotti’s departure for Real Madrid was met with raised eyebrow.

‘I’ll admit, the swiftness of the whole thing came as an enormous surprise to me’, Ancelotti’s left eyebrow told Paddy Power News.

‘I’m looking forward to meeting the Madrid players – apart from Sergio Ramos. What a complete and utter sh*tehouse the man is’, said the raised strip of hair above the Italian’s eye socket.

In related news, Duncan Ferguson will follow Ancelotti to the Bernabéu to operate the electronic substitutions board there.

The 49-year-old was seen driving away from Goodison Park yesterday in a flamenco dress with Los Del Rio’s Macarena blasting out of the car’s sound system.
‘Lanzarote here I come, ya b*stards yiz’, growled the Scotsman as he hurtled past.
