Luke Littler v Michael van Gerwen
It’s a huge final and it needs no introduction. We get spoiled at the World Darts Championship finals, we’ve had some great finals over the years, and now we’ve got Luke Littler v Michael van Gerwen.
MvG will just be delighted to get back in the limelight, be back in a big final, and both players will just be desperate to get going. The standard is going to be so high and these have been the two best players in this tournament.
They’re deserved finalists and they’ve just got one more game to go now. MvG knows the score, he knows he will be the underdog, and he’s been the underdog for the title through the whole tournament but he believes in himself.
It’s a huge task for him, especially after seeing Littler’s semi final performance against Stephen Bunting. He’ll have to find another level yet again.
I said Littler would win at the beginning of the tournament and nothing’s changed my mind, I just think Littler will have all the answers. I’m certain it will be close but I fancy Littler to win 7-4.
That’s a popular scoreline in the final and these are two really good players finding form but it’s a final and, generally, no-one runs away with a final. I think it will be close initially but Littler will just run away with it towards the end.
