We are finally set for starters orders at Ally Pally, as the World Darts Championship finally begins on Wednesday and to celebrate the arrows action, we’ve asked our traders for the inside scoop. The day’s play is headlined by Gerwyn Price, as he kicks off the defence of his title against the winner of the Ritchie Edhouse v Lihao Wen game earlier on in the evening.

However, it is the two other matches on the night that has caught the eye of our Darts trader Damien Fitzgerald and he has thrown us a delightful double to start the tournament with. Who knows, maybe you could hit the jackpot (yes, that is a hint) with it!
20:00 Ricky Evans v Nitin Kumar: Kumar (+2.5)
‘Rapid’ Ricky Evans takes on Nitin Kumar in the second game on the night and I reckon the Indian player can well take a set in this game. Kumar last appeared in the World Championship in 2020, where he threw a very respectable 90 average in a 3-0 loss to Brendan Dolan. A repeat of that form will should see him nick a set against Evans, who has struggled for form all year on the PDC Tour.

21:00 Adrian Lewis v Matt Campbell: Both to throw 4 or more 180s
This could be one of the games of the entire first round at Alexandra Palace. Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis is looking to recover his form and there have been some promising signs recently, but he has been handed a very tough task here. Campbell has shown at both the World Cup of Darts (representing Canada) and at the World Championships last year that he is a capable player. I reckon this game could go to all five sets and if that is the case, Both to throw 4 or more 180s looks a very tempting price. Let the maximums flow!
