Paddy last night pulled the plug on its next Late Late Show host market following a string of bets on Patrick Kielty.
Kielty, became the favourite last week for the role after previous market leaders Claire Byrne and Sarah McInerney ruled themselves out of the running.

The Down man began the week as a 5/6 favourite but was backed into 1/5 to replace Ryan Tubridy in the hot seat before Paddy made the decision to shut the market.
Things quietened down in the betting over the past couple of weeks but we had an explosion of activity yesterday.

It was all one-way traffic, with customers willing to back Patrick Kielty no matter what the price and we therefore made the decision to pull the plug. This looks like a done-deal as far as we are concerned.
Kielty was keepinghis cards close to his chest when asked about the role by RTÉ. He said, “I’ve only really a couple of things to say on that.
“I think the Late Late Show is one of the greatest TV shows on the planet. Whoever gets it is going to be really lucky.”
