11am: Siniakova v Tsurenko – Siniakova to win

Czech ace and WTA number 32 Katerina Siniakova faces Lesia Tsurenko representing the Ukraine for the 4th time in their career. Tsurenko (#WTA 60) has the upper hand in the head to heads leading 2-1 but this is the first time that the ladies face each other on grass.

Siniakova has been playing excellently on grass and just last week won her 4th WTA Tour level title beating Lucia Bronzetti in the final in straight sets. Siniakova has continued this form winning her 6th game on the bounce with a straight sets victory over Qinwen Zheng in her Wimbledon opener. Tsurenko progressed after a 2-1 win over Claire Liu. Siniakova is the woman in form heading into this match and should have enough to get her through to the next round here.

2.30pm: Fernandez v Garcia – Garcia to win

Caroline Garcia (#WTA 5) faces Leylah Fernandez (#WTA 95) for the 3rd time this year. Garcia won both of those matches however they were both on hard ground, but may play a part here psychologically and give the French player the upper hand. Garcia has won five of her last six games and heads into Wimbledon full of confidence and dispatched of Katie Volynets in straight sets to progress.

Fernandez faced Kateryna Baindi in her opener and won 2-1. Garcia won the 2022 WTA Finals singles and has several titles to her name playing both singles and doubles. Garcia will be keen to use all of her experience to carry this form and to turn her previous run of form at Wimbledon and should progress here.

3pm: Raonic v Paul – Paul to win

Tommy Paul representing the USA is currently the ATP ranked 15th player and is up against Candian Milos Raonic who is currently 849th in the rankings. Roanic did, however, get the better of Tommy Paul when they faced each other in Mexico two years ago on hard ground.

Raonic was once the World number 3 back in 2016, becoming the highest ranked Canadian player in history, and has also played in a Wimbledon final, losing to Andy Murray. His career has been hit by injuries which forced him to have a two-year break from the sport. Raonic has eight career titles, all of which came on hard surfaces.

Tommy Paul has won six of his last eight games, losing twice last month to Argentine Francisco Cerundolo. Paul won his opener in style in straight sets without dispersing too much energy, whilst Raonic also won with ease, 3-1.

Paul is at the peak of his career, currently the highest ranking he has ever had, whilst Raonic is a hard ground player and looks to be at the tail end of his career due to injuries. We expect Tommy Paul to progress here.

5.30pm: Murray v Tsitsipas – Both Players to win a Set

Two time Wimbledon winner and British favourite Andy Murray continues his campaign against Greece’s world No.5, Stefanos Tsitsipas. Murray dispatched of fellow Brit Ryan Peniston with ease in straight sets in his opener whilst Tsitsipas got the better of Dominic Thiem in a five-game thriller thanks to a tiebreaker win. Andy Murray has been playing good tennis and is in good form currently, but will need to be at the top of his game to beat Tsitsipas who is the much higher ranked player currently.

Murray did beat Tsitsipas 12 months ago when they faced off in Germany on grass, 2-0 on the day. Murray, who will once again be roared on by a large home crowd, is Paddy’s favourite to win the match. This should be a close match, one where we expect both players to win at least 1 set.
