Going into the fifth day in South West London, Cameron Norrie will be looking to make it past the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time, as he meets American Steve Johnson on Centre Court.
We’re also backing John Isner to progress, after he defeated Andy Murray on Wednesday, and are looking for another quick victory by Greek number 5 ladies’ player Maria Sakkari.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Our expert Rob Bentley is here to serve up another tasty trio of bets for Friday’s play, so let’s get into it…

Jannik Sinner vs John Isner: Isner to win and both players to win a set
Jannik Sinner secured a number of firsts during his first-round victory over Stan Wawrinka. It was first win at Wimbledon, on his second appearance, as well as his tour-level victory on grass. The young Italian played a solid game vs Wawrinka, with his agility and consistency being the difference maker. But as Andy Murray found out in the last round, John Isner is a different player to most on the circuit. It was another impressive performance from the American, hitting 34 aces along the way. Sinner will have to break Isner’s serve consistently to win this one and the bookies have him as favourite but I’m not sure. It’ll be an evenly matched contest but for me, Isner comes out on top.
Cameron Norrie vs Steve Johnson: Norrie to win 3-0
The British number one is back in action on Friday as he looks to reach the 4th round of Wimbledon for the first time in his career. He had to dig deep to battle past Jaume Munar in the last round in what ended up being a five set thriller. Johnson’s route to the third round was more simple after favoured Grigor Dimitrov withdrew from their first round match and he defeated British wildcard Ryan Peniston in straight sets. Johnson is yet to be really tested and Norrie should have more than enough. Dimitrov’s withdrawal due to injury has definitely made this side of the draw easier and Norrie will be looking to capitalise on that.
Maria Sakkari vs Tatjana Maria: Under 19.5 total games
As people run out of superlatives for the ever more impressive Iga Swiatek, it does make you look at the rest of the Women’s field and wonder who could compete with her. Maria Sakkari is one name you might hear get thrown around. The Greek, ranked 5th in the world, is still waiting for her first grand slam victory but she has shown promise. She breezed through her Second-Round match in 19 games and I expect something similar here. She will be looking to assert her dominance over Tatjana Maria and progress through to the next round unscathed.
