Our tipster Robert Bentley has a fine four-fold in mind.

Day two of Wimbledon gets underway with some big names kicking off their tournaments. With Novak Djokovic, Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray sealing their spot in the next round, it’s time to see who will be joining them. I’ll be picking out an acca of my four best bets, making use of Paddy Power’s generous Wimbledon offer across the first three days.

1:30pm: Iga Swiatek v Jana Fett – Under 15.5 Total Games

Can anyone stop Iga Swiatek? The favourite for the Women’s Championship is currently on a 35-match unbeaten run stretching back to February, and shows no sign of slowing down. Her straight sets win in the final of the French Open earlier this month was the second Grand Slam victory of her career and whilst her experience on grass is limited she will be look to add a third here at Wimbledon.

Up first in her quest for glory is Jana Fett. Fett came through the qualifiers and is ranked 252nd in the world. Whilst Swiatek’s experience on grass is very limited, I can’t see the World No.1 being challenged too much here. I expect the red-hot Swiatek to make light work of her opponent and can’t see her dropping many games in doing so.

4pm: Denis Shapovalov v Arthur Rinderknech – Rinderknech to Win and Both Players to Win a Set

Denis Shapovalov comes into Wimbledon in some pretty form. Since being knocked out the French Open in the 1st round by Holger Rune, he has been knocked out in his first round of each of the subsequent ATP Tour events.

Rinderknech also beat Shapovalov earlier this year in straight sets, albeit on a different surface and Shapovalov does prefer playing on grass. So whilst I don’t expect the result to differ, I see it being a tighter affair.

Serena Williams

3pm: Francisco Cerundolo v Rafael Nadal – Nadal to Win 3-0

Rafael Nadal is back in action on centre court today facing off against Argentine, Francisco Cerundolo. The two-time Wimbledon champion is on Centre Court for his first appearance in SW19 since 2019. Cerundolo is making his first appearance at the tournament and whilst he has shown promise this year, becoming the lowest-ranked semi finalist in tournament history at ATP Miami, I can’t see him posing too many problems for an in-form Rafa.

Nadal will be hoping to ease himself into this tournament with a straight sets victory, as he targets his third Grand Slam victory of the year.

5pm: Serena Williams v Harmony Tan – Williams to Win 2-0

All eyes will be on the returning Serena Williams as she starts her bid for an eighth Wimbledon Grand Slam. She may be coming into the tournament undercooked, but she doesn’t strike me as the type to enter for the sake of it, she will be there to win. Serena made her first appearance in over a year last week at the Eastbourne International and when it came to her serves and general shot making, it looked like she’d never been away.

Her opponent, Harmony Tan, is making her first appearance at Wimbledon having failed to make it out the qualifiers last year. She should be no match for the 23-time Grand Slam champion, no matter how little tennis she has played recently.
