1:45pm: Rafael Nadal vs Alexander Zverev, Nadal to win and both players to win a set, set 1 Game Handicap Zverev +1.5

TV: Eurosport 1

Last time out Rafael Nadal had yet another night to remember in Paris getting revenge on Novak Djokovic who beat the Spaniard last year in the semi-final and went on to win the tournament in the only match Nadal has lost at Rolland Garros in the semi-final stages.  Alexander Zverev will have to be at his very best to be the 2nd person ever to beat Nadal in semifinals here. Zverev was extremely impressive in his win vs one of the most fancied players to win the whole tournament Carlos Alcaraz who Zverev dominated winning in 4 sets. This will no doubt give the number #1 ranked German confidence as it is the first top 10 player he has beat in a grand slam. Zverev has had a tough time against Nadal on clay with Rafa holding a 3-1 lead with Zverev’s only win coming last year in Madrid where he won in straight sets.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Zverev has shown in this tournament he has what it takes to push a top 10 player and I like his chances of winning a set here at least but I think the challenge is too high to beat Rafael Nadal in Paris. I think Nadal to win the match and both players win a set is good value with Zverev heating up at the right time he could easily take a set here. For Zverev to have a chance here he will have to start fast with no room for mistakes I also like Set 1 Game Handicap Zverev +1.5 he will have the push Nadal to the limit in set 1 to set the precedent for the match.

4.30pm: Casper Ruud vs Marin Cilic, Casper Ruud (-1.5) set handicap

TV: Eurosport 1

Casper Ruud is heading into this match up having his best year of tennis of his career. The 23-year-old will be playing his first semifinal in a grand slam of his career beating Holger Rune in 4 sets last time out and will be excited to potentially get a place in a final at Rolland Garros. His opponent Marin Cilic is an experienced player in these latter stages of grand slams, winning US Open in 2014 and reaching the final of Wimbledon and Australian Open a few years ago. The 33-year-old beat Andrey Rublev in a 5-set thriller saving a match point to beat the world number #7 in a 5th set tiebreak.

I think that match will have taken a lot out of the Croatian and I think this challenge against a much younger in form player will be too much for him. I think Ruud will be going to his first grand slam final of his career after a blistering year winning two ATP titles and I can see him winning this in 3 or 4 sets against a tired Marin Cilic. I like Ruud -1.5 set handicap.
