10am: Grigor Dimitrov v Diego Schwartzman – Total Match Games Over 38.5
Round three of the French Open is here! There has been a resurgence to form for Gregor Dimitrov in recent times. He has had an excellent clay season so far with a semi-final appearance at Monaco under his belt and if it wasn’t for having to face Stefano Tsitsipas in three consecutive tournaments, he may well have gone one further in Rome, Madrid, or Barcelona.
Either way, he has had sufficient preparation for the gruelling feat ahead that is a Tennis Grand Slam and in particular Roland Garros. Dimitrov brushed Schwartzman aside in Madrid three weeks ago conceding only three games, however, I expect it to be a closer affair this time around.
Schwartzman having reached the semis here in 2020 and the quarters in 2021 (losing both to ‘The King’) knows his way around Court Philippe Chatrier and won’t go down without a fight. This could go either way and I expect both players to drop a set or two.

12:00: Angelique Kerber v Aliaksandra Sasnovich – Kerber to Win and Both Players to Win a Set
I’m really looking forward to this one. If history is anything to go by then we could be due another scintillating contest between this pair with both previous encounters going the distance and Kerber emerging victorious both times.
Kerber will be looking to extend her seven-match winning streak which has continued beyond her victory at Strasbourg but will not be taking the challenge of Sasnovich lightly. Sasnovich is also coming off strong form with a comfortable first round victory against Xinyu Wang as well as a three-set victory over Emma Raducanu.
She was virtually unplayable in set two vs Raducanu registering 19 winners to only four unforced errors and for this reason I think Kerber will find it extremely difficult not to drop a set. The bookies can’t decide who is favourite for the match but rather than sit on the fence I think Kerber just pips it.
19:45: Sebastian Korda v Carlos Alcaraz – Game Handicap Sebastian Korda +6.5
Carlos Alcaraz is unbeaten in 12 matches, picking up two clay titles in this time along with some significant victories against the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas but to name a few.
All eyes were on Alcaraz coming into Roland Garros and he didn’t disappoint in his first-round match comfortably dispatching Juan Ignacio Londero in under two hours. Round two was a little different and saw Alcaraz show his resilient character in the face of adversity by coming back from match point against in the 4th set and 0-3 down in the 5th to Albert Ramos Vinolas to win the match.
The last time Alcaraz lost a match was to his round three opponent Sebastian Korda in Monaco in April. Korda’s journey to the third round has been a little less complicated with two straight-set victories over Aussie John Millman and local hero Richard Gasquet. Neither really challenged the American.
If there is a sniff of a hangover from the five sets against Ramos or if Alcaraz plays like he did the last time he faced Korda in Monaco, then there is every chance that Korda causes him some trouble. Not enough to cause an upset, however.
