Following a record number of Irish nominations at this year’s Oscars, Paddy’s paid out to punters who put their faith in Barry Keoghan to scoop Best Supporting Actor at last night’s 95th Annual Academy Awards.
After Barry’s suitcases were lost by BA earlier in the week, he then lost out to Everything, Everywhere All At Once star Ke Huy Quan, Paddy ended the streak of bad luck by paying out to his fans anyway.

Ireland had a record 14 Oscar nominations for this year’s Awards, with 25% of the 20 acting spots up going to stars from the Emerald Isle.
Despite the huge nominations success, there was to be no glory in the acting categories last night.
To make up for this Paddy is paying back on all bets made The Banshees of Inisherin star, Barry Keoghan to pick up the Best Support Actor Oscar.
Barry lost his luggage and his Oscars chances, but that doesn’t mean his fans have to lose out as well. It’s been a breakthrough year for Irish film and we love any excuse to celebrate.
Well done to all the Irish legends, there’s always next year.
Oh, and it’s wasn’t all bad news last night for Ireland though as An Irish Goodbye picked up Best-Live Action Short.
