NFL Tips: Here’s our 22/1 Multi-Match Bet Builder for Sunday’s early games

Our tipster Ben Steele gives us the lowdown on Sunday's 6pm NFL games.

Sunday’s 6pm NFL Tips

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -4.5 Points
Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints
Derek Carr Over 232.5 Passing Yards

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
Over 40.5 Points

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -4.5 Points

A huge day in the NFC South, with all four teams playing each other and three of those four still in the hunt to win the division on the final day of the regular season. The team with the simplest route to the playoffs is Tampa Bay who know that a win in Carolina will secure them their third straight division title.

The Bucs have the benefit of playing the Panthers, who have the worst record in the NFL (2-12) and were held scoreless on New Year’s Eve by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 10 of Carolina’s 12 losses have been by a touchdown or more and I’m confident that the motivated Bucs side will add to that total. A 4.5-point handicap should be covered without too much hassle.

Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown

Baker Mayfield has been a fun story for the Bucs this season, providing a number of highlight performances which have, in the majority, come off the back of Mayfield’s connection with wide receiver Mike Evans.

The veteran pass-catcher needs one more touchdown to tie his career high for scores in a season and a month ago produced one of his best performances of the year. Evans caught seven passes for 162 yards and a touchdown, with so much on the line for Tampa Bay Mayfield will regularly rely on Evans – look for him to score for the 14th time.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr Over 232.5 Passing Yards

If the Bucs do happen to slip up and lose to the Panthers both the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons will know that if they win their game they will win the division. The Saints come into the game with concerns over the health of star running back Alvin Kamara, so will likely look to lean on quarterback Derek Carr and the passing game.

Carr only threw for 197 yards last week after the Buccaneers were smothered by the Saints defensive unit but will be buoyed by the fact that he had success against Atlanta earlier at the end of November. Combining well with Chris Olave, Carr threw for 304 yards and if the Saints are going to have any hope of keeping their slim playoff hopes alive they will need more of the same from their signal caller.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans

Over 40.5 Points

Another division where all four teams play each other and three can still win it is the AFC South. Scheduling has put the Texans trip to Indianapolis on Saturday night, and the winner of that game will spend Sunday supporting the Tennessee Titans.

The Jacksonville Jaguars know that a win in Tennessee secures them top spot in the division and will fancy their chances given their recent record over the Titans. The Jags have won the last three games between the two sides by a total of 38 points and will expect more of the same on Sunday. Eight of the last ten games between the team have seen at least 40 points and I’m backing another high scoring matchup.

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions

Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown

Were it not for Texans QB CJ Stroud then Jahmyr Gibbs would likely be in the conversation for Offensive Rookie of the Year and Sunday will likely show why that is the case. Gibbs started the season slowly but has grown into a prominent role in the Lions offence, highlighted by a 100-yard, two touchdown performance against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Eve.

Gibbs had 19 touches in that Lions win and, on average, if he repeats that level of involvement I’d be very surprised if he didn’t find the endzone again. Minnesota need a win to keep their own playoff hopes alive but the Lions are coming into the game off the back of a controversial loss to the Cowboys and will be looking to bury a division rival.
