The battle for the AFC East and #2 seed all boils down to Sunday night’s showdown between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills. Miami has had control of this division all season but with Buffalo’s recent resurgence in form along with Miami’s recent struggles have made this a winner-takes-all clash.
Come Sunday night the Bills may find themselves in a win-or-go-home situation depending on the results of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. It should make for a fascinating battle and we have a bet builder for Sunday night’s action.
Buffalo Bills to Win
One team is trending upward while the other is struggling. The Bills having slept walked the first 12 weeks woke up in Kansas City defeating the Chiefs and since then have looked like the Bills of old.
Josh Allen has found his feet and so has the Bills offence. James Cook has been a revelation in recent weeks and the strong ground game has been the bedrock from which their success has derived. The Dolphins struggled against the strong running attack last week against the Ravens and that in turn allowed Lamar Jackson to pick apart their secondary.
With injuries to premium pass rushers Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb, the Dolphins will struggle to get to Allen allowing him to run up a big score. With more on the line for the Bills, I’m taking them to win.

Over 48.5 Points
Whatever questions there are over the Dolphin’s defence, you can’t deny the big play ability of their offence. With the likes of Tyreek Hill, Devon Achane, and Raheem Mostert scoring at will all year they have the firepower to score from anywhere. It’s their defence that worries me.
The Bills offence has been firing lately averaging 28.5 points in their last 6 games. Their previous matchup this season brought us 68 points, and this game should follow suit.
Josh Allen Any Time Touchdown Scorer
Josh Allen has always been a threat with his legs. The 6′ 5″, 237-pound quarterback is as tough a player to bring down as any in the league. He has scored eight touchdowns in their last six games.
In the redzone, he tends to favour his ball-carrying ability rather than forcing passes into tight windows. The Bills have also taken a leaf out of the Eagles book with the Tush Push play. So if the ball is inside the five-yard line I’d expect Allen to take responsibility and go for six himself.
Josh Allen Over 36.5 Rushing Yards
Typically in these winner-take-all matchups, quarterbacks will do whatever it takes to get the first down. A lot of the time that means keeping the ball in hand and rushing themselves. Allen has always been a threat on the ground and the stats back it up.
He had 44 yards against the New England Patriots last week and that easily covered his line. With the mark this week set at 36, I like his chances to cover.
Stephon Diggs Over 59.5 Receiving Yards
Stephon Diggs is the Bill’s unquestioned wide receiver one. Although he has struggled in recent weeks this is a classic buy-low situation. In the October fixture between the teams, Diggs put on a show, notching three touchdowns and 120 yards from six receptions.
If the game becomes a shootout as expected, Diggs has the potential to expose the Dolphins, especially if Miami is without outstanding cornerback Xavien Howard who is questionable for Sunday night. Under the bright lights of primetime, this is Diggs get-right game.
