Sunday’s 6pm NFL Tips

Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans
Alt Total Points: Over 38.5

Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers
Over 16.5 Panthers Points

Indianapolis Colts @ Atlanta Falcons
Bijan Robinson Over 59.5 Rushing Yards

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
Both Teams to Score 1+ TDs in Each Half

Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans
Tri-Bet – Either Team to Win by 7 or Less

Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans

Alternative Total Points: Over 38.5

Neither of these defences are particularly good. Seattle remain in the NFC playoff hunt thanks to their ability to score. They even managed to do enough of that with Drew Lock as QB filling in for Geno Smith last Monday night against the Eagles to beat the slumping Super Bowl champs.

They should have their starter back this week against Tennessee and, while he’s had an up-and-down season, he should take advantage of the below-average Titans’ secondary.

On the other side, Seattle can’t count on shutting down Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears like the Texans did last week –

He should find it easier to move the ball this week against Seattle’s more porous front, and that will help rookie QB Will Levis find his receivers, so we’ll go for an over on an alternative points line of 38.5.

Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers

    Panthers Total Points: Over 16.5

It’s been a debut season to forget for Carolina QB Bryce Young. Already working under a second head coach of his pro career, the first overall pick hasn’t been given much to work with but also hasn’t elevated those around him like the best at the position do.

However, there are some signs of life. The torrential rain during last week’s win over Atlanta goes some way to explaining the 9-7 final score, but Young managed to avoid turnovers and drove his team down the field on the final drive to win the game.

Green Bay’s defence is allowing opposing QBs to complete over 70% of their passes in the last three games, and coordinator Joe Barry is under huge pressure following a shocking loss at Lambeau Field to the meagre Bucs last week, a game where Baker Mayfield finished with a perfect passer rating.

Put simply, if Young can’t put together some drives against the Packers, it’ll look like the Panthers traded away their future for one of the biggest draft busts ever.

    (16.5)

    Indianapolis Colts @ Atlanta Falcons

Bijan Robinson Over 59.5 Rushing Yards

If the Falcons were in a stronger division than NFC South, coach Arthur Smith would already be a dead man walking, but as it stands they’re still in with a chance of slithering into the playoffs and a whupping in the Wildcard Round come January.

Last week’s capitulation to the limited talents of Carolina in the Charlotte rain was emblematic of a stuttering season when this team should be soaring, having invested high draft picks in offensive talent over Smith three years as head coach.

You’d hope the light will go on now that his continuing employment depends on making the most of the big names they’ve drafted, running back Bijan Robinson chief among those. After a poor outing last week in the rain, Robinson should be primed for a big workload against the Colts middling rush defence.

    Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings

Both Teams to Score 1+ TDs in Each Half

The points total here is 47 which tells us the bookies expect the offences to be on top. Certainly, when the Lions are clicking they can wrack up scores – amply demonstrated last week against the Broncos.

Minnesota’s defence will put up greater resistance, but Detroit will be forced to take risks assuming the home team can take advantage of a very leaky Lions D.

Nick Mullens at QB might give cause for doubt on that front, but he did show he can move an offence last week against Cincy and their defence has been improving recently.

A score in each half for both teams isn’t a big ask.

    Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans

Tri-Bet – Either Team to win by 7 or less

Both of these teams have been involved in some of the most dramatic finales so far this season. Of the Texan’s last eight games, only one has been decided by more than five points either way.

The Browns have enjoyed – or endured – a few clearer-cut scorelines, but seven of their last ten games have also fallen within the margin of seven points either side.

Both these sides seem constitutionally repelled by blow-outs and should play out another close game here.
