Tom Brady's long gone and you can survey the carcass of the New England Patriots on Thursday night with Andrew Cunneen's Bet Builder

Handicap: New England (+6)
Total Points: Under 30.5
Bailey Zappe Under 154.5 Passing Yards
Mitch Trubisky Under 180.5 Passing Yards
Jaylen Warren Over 15.5 Receiving Yards

I was born in 1992, which means most of my adult life has seen me very jealous of the New England Patriots.

So while you might think the idea of staying up to watch what is bound to be one of the worst games of the entire season is torturous, I assure you that I will treasure every single second of this.

My own Los Angeles Chargers posted a shutout against the Pats last weekend, and while a 6-0 scoreline is more akin to a Manchester derby these days than an AFC clash, it was sweet regardless.

A part of me doesn’t mind once Tom Brady is at least marginally unhappy in his day-to-day life.

Bailey Zappe versus Mitchell Trubisky is probably not the peak of entertainment I thought I’d be engaging with in the middle of December, but it at least affords me the chance to tackle conservative traders and backing pretty much every under we can find.

Handicap: New England (+6)

I understand that Bailey Zappe being under centre is problematic. I know full well that their run game without Rhamondre Stevenson is lethargic. I know their specialists aren’t that good and I fully comprehend that basically all of their skill position players are listed as questionable for this game.

And yet.

Bill Belichick remains one of the best defensive minds in football because he doesn’t overcomplicate things. Players line up and know exactly how to play.

In order for him to highlight just how he’s the right man for the job, New England will continue shipping next to no points and still losing.

This is his show and we’re all going to have to agree to that fact, no matter what.

Total Points: Under 30.5

I didn’t say you had to stay up for it – just that I would.

Kenny Pickett is the butt of all jokes, I get it. But he could at least move the ball between the 20s and hand it off to Najee Harris.

Mitch’s grasp of this Matt Canada-less offence isn’t fantastic and there’ll be no quick hits.

That means we’re likely to see limited scoring. Someone should really suggest an over/under on punts.

Bailey Zappe – Under 154.5 Passing Yards

They’re not going to throw the ball against TJ Watt, I promise you. They’ll continue to run the ball away from Watt, so to avoid Cam Heyward.

Zappe’s completions will probably be the result of bootlegs, but even then the playbook becomes so predictable.

Do not touch any overs as far as QBs are concerned in this game of football.

Mitch Trubisky – Under 180.5 Passing Yards

Well, I did say it. Mitch is one of the worst deep ball passers in the entire league. His average yards per pass attempt is 5.6 yards.

Everything is going to be short here.

Jaylen Warren – Over 15.5 Receiving Yards

Which plays right into.. Jaylen Warren, come on down!

Check-down city is what they’ll be remaining Pittsburgh if they don’t trade up in this draft and find someone better than Kenneth Shane Pickett.

That theme continues here because, well, the offence is designed like this – and both he and Pat Freiermuth will be by far the busiest Steelers on this side of the ball.
