9:25pm – Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders
Chiefs -2.5

Thankfully in Week 12 we’re going back to having four games in the late slate. We’re going to see some good defenses like the Cleveland Browns, the NFL’s best player in Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs and most interestingly a marquee matchup between the Bills and Eagles.

Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos

Javonte Williams Over 52.5 Rushing Yards

We’ve all been watching this Browns’ defense this season and been hugely impressed. They’ve only allowed an average of 18 points against per game this season but their real strength is against the pass.

No team in the NFL has allowed fewer passing yards per game (143.7) than the Browns and while their rush defense is good, allowing the 11th fewest in the league, it’s clearly the best way to hurt them.

Javonte Williams is the Broncos’ best RB and should be able to have a solid outing against the Browns, especially if the bookies are right and the Broncos are winning, which they should be as favourites.

If Deshaun Watson was playing I wouldn’t be backing this but Dorian Thomposon-Robinson isn’t of that calibre and there’s a very real chance that his flaws could give the Broncos the edge. If they’re winning then we’re even more likely to see lots of Williams, back the Over on his rushing yard line of 52.5.

Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals

Trey McBride Anytime Touchdown

You’re about to see a theme develop but let’s start here. We are backing Cardinals’ tight end Trey McBride to score a touchdown. He’s only scored one all season but the Rams aren’t great against TEs.

Crucially we are seeing elite usage for McBride. Since Zach Ertz hit IR he’s become the main man in Arizona and he’s excelling now he has the opportunity.

Last week he played 100% of the team’s snaps, ran 100% of the Cardinals’ routes and led the team in targets. With usage comes opportunity and I feel he has a great chance of finding the endzone.

Buffalo Bills @ Philadelphia Eagles

Bills +3

I’m backing the Bills +3 at the Linc in Sunday’s best late game. Firstly, I think the Bills are better than their 6-5 record. We’ve seen some poor mistakes from Josh Allen this year and a number of small moments which have caused the Bills to lose games.

It’s not as simple as forgetting those but I think with a little more luck this would be a team leading their division and being talked about as Super Bowl favourites.

That’s in stark contrast to the Eagles who I think are very good but not quite as good as their 9-1 record would indicate. I don’t think this year’s Eagles team is nearly as good as last year and their defense in particular worries me.

With the Bills desperately needing a big performance here I think we could see something special.

Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown

That trend I mentioned? It’s tight ends scoring. Dalton Kincaid, like Trey McBride mentioned above, has benefitted from his team’s other leading TE Dawson Knox getting injured and missing time.

Since that injury he’s scored in two of five games but this Eagles defense have allowed six touchdowns to tight ends, tied for the most in the NFL. If Josh Allen isn’t force feeding Stefon Diggs then I think we could see Kincaid as the real winner in the red zone.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders

Chiefs -2.5

The Chiefs just don’t look right do they? We know the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes but I don’t believe that they’re playing anywhere near what we’ve seen from them at times over the past couple of years.

The line for this game is Chiefs -8.5. That’s a big spread and I can’t bring myself to back it, especially with Chiefs’ games seemingly being closer than they should be this season. That’s led to me taking an alternate line of Chiefs -2.5. I still think that they’ll win but there’s a good chance it’ll be closer than the bookies think.
