Thanksgiving is a bit of a funny one in this part of the world.

The thing I’m most thankful for in life is that the awkward family event know as Christmas only comes around once a year.

That being the distant relatives suggesting you either look unhealthy due to weight loss or weight gain; overpriced gifts – and the consumption of one of the most flavourless meats on this earth.

And to have it so close to Christmas?

I feel like sometime in the 1970s, someone was at least semi-aware that it was a pointless holiday and they looked to get rid of it, only for the NFL to realise their triple-header was making them a fortune in ad revenue so they stuck with it.

So, in true American fashion, here are the things I’m grateful for, but done in Bet Builder legs, so I can be ultimately grateful for the extra few quid this brings me.

Cowboys and Commanders – assemble!

Handicap: Cowboys -12.5

I’m grateful for overly cautious handicaps.

The Cowboys haven’t always proven to be a ruthless machine, but due to their defense finally kicking into gear and Dak Prescott rediscovering his ability to not throw interceptions, it feels like there’s a balance where both units are working in tandem.

Their victories this year? By 23 last week; 32 the week before; 23 two weeks prior; 35 two weeks beforehand; 20 and 40 points respectively to open the season.

When they’re on it, they’re on it.

Total Points: Over 48.5

The Commanders have given up 24 passing touchdowns this season. That’s over two a game. Given Brandon Aubrey is nailing PATs, you’re already counting on 14 points to begin with if Dallas were just average and Washington were held scoreless.

Neither of those things are true, so shoot the over.

Sam Howell – Over 251.5 Passing Yards

The issue with Dallas is that they attack almost at will. They’ll send so much pressure that they’re either getting the ball back or giving up a chunk play.

Howell has an uncanny ability to face that pressure up and chuck downfield.

He’s also going to be in a negative gamescript for this entire 60 minutes, meaning he’s going to pass the ball on almost 80%+ of their plays.

Howell is averaging 276 yards per game through the air, and some of that is coming when the Commanders are trying to run the ball. Remove those limitations.

Jahan Dotson – Over 32.5 Receiving Yards

Dotson beats man coverage.

He’s not the best at dissecting zones and taking easing catches, but against teams that are heavy man, it’s quite clear that he’s cooking. His two best games this year came against Philadelphia and New England – teams that play heavy blitz and man behind.

That’s exactly what Dallas are.

CeeDee Lamb – Over 93.5 Receiving Yards

The reason this line is where it is, is because of last week. Lamb had just 38 yards.

Before then? 717 in his previous four games. That’s almost inconceivable.

Buy the dip against a porous unit.
