Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions
Amon-Ra St Brown Anytime Touchdown
Over the last year the Detroit Lions have been one of the most in-form teams in the NFL. Dan Campbell’s side are 15-5 across their last 20 games and a big part of that success has been the performance of the prodigiously talented, and wonderfully named, Amon-Ra St Brown.
After setting career highs in every major receiving category in 2022 St Brown has been even better this time around. The third-year pass catcher has topped 100 yards in seven of nine games this season and two of his four touchdowns came in the games where he had under 100 yards.
This week’s opponent, the Chicago Bears, are one of the worst pass defences in the league and I’m backing St Brown to find the endzone again on Sunday.
Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown
The ability of St Brown has got opposing defences focusing on the former USC man which has created a lot of opportunity for rookie tight end Sam LaPorta.
With four touchdowns to his name already in his young career LaPorta has become a solid option for quarterback Jared Goff and after St Brown the Tight End is definitely the second biggest threat in the passing game.
Goff has targeted LaPorta five or more times in every game this season and with the Bears defence likely to be focused on stopping Lions running backs duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs I’d expect LaPorta to score a touchdown, most likely on a play action pass in the redzone.

Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers
Dallas Cowboys -10.5 points
The Dallas Cowboys very rarely play in the 6pm slot of games but their trip to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers offers them a chance to wrap up their seventh win of the season in what should be a comfortable victory.
Led by Dak Prescott, the Cowboys are 6-3 with five of those victories coming by a margin of 20 points or more. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is likely to have a lot of joy against a poor Carolina defence and running back Rico Dowdle is an attractive price to score a touchdown at 11/4.
Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young has struggled so far and facing Cowboys star Micah Parsons certainly won’t make his job any easier. Parsons has a sack in each of his last three games and will likely add to that tally on Sunday, expect the Cowboys to easily cover their 10.5 points spread.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins -12.5 points
It’s a bit of a weekend for one sided handicaps, in fact five of the early games have team’s favoured by more than a touchdown. The biggest favourites though, are the Miami Dolphins who host the Las Vegas Raiders in another game that should more than live up to the billing of a mismatch.
Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will provide a threat in the passing game while Raheem Mostert is looking likely to receive some running support from De’Von Achane who is trending towards a return from injured reserve.
Despite having the sixth lowest scoring offence in the NFL the Raiders are 5-5 but with an offence averaging 17 points per game and facing the most prolific offence in the NFL I’d be amazed if Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins side didn’t win the game and they should cover their generous handicap too.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers +1.5 Points
In contrast to the last two games, the AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns looks set to be a close-run thing. After Baltimore’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday the Steelers will be hoping to keep pace in the AFC North with a win against an injury hit Cleveland Browns.
The highest paid player in NFL history, Deshaun Watson, will miss the 15th game of his Browns career on Sunday as Cleveland announced he will miss the rest of the season.
While the Steelers are a solid, but unspectacular outfit, the combo of Kenny Pickett and George Pickens should fancy their chances of success on offence while TJ Watt continues his charge towards 100 career sacks.
The Steelers have won four of the last five games between the two sides, including earlier in the season, look for them to continue their dominance in the matchup on Sunday.
